I am not sure where to put this, but as it applies to the core game as well as HoT ill put it here.

The mystic forging process could use a little update. It is WAY too much work to put in the simplest recipes that you need a lot of, and it is SLOW.
Example: amalgamated gemstones, we need 250 of these to make one of the components for the new legendaries. It is a mystic forge recipe that takes 3 sets of 3 orbs/crests/dubloons and 1 crystaline dust. That means i have to double click or drag 4 components 250 times, then click forge. Luckily i dont have to click accept as putting in the next recipe and clicking forge automaticly clears the dialog. But it still makes for 2250 clicks, and a lot of time, i spent 20 minutes or more doing it and have 200ish of them.

solution 1: remove that recipe as a mystic forge recipe, and instead have it be a jeweller or artificer one.
solution 2: have a way to quick repeat the last recipe you did.
solution 3: have a number box like you do for crafting to set the amount of times you want that recipe forged.
solution 4: When you discover a mystic forge recipe, have a tab (like in crafting) where you can repeat that recipe, this would only apply to set recipes that give specific things.
IE a mytic recipe, or the amalgamated gemstone recipe.

Solution 4 has been suggested previously and, of the four you’ve offered, it’s the one that appeals to me most., although several of these solutions could really be implemented together. Thank you for bringing this up again. The mystic forge is so clumsy and it doesn’t need to be.

There’s also, if I may hijack your post, too much real-estate on the right side, which serves only to show you the four ingredients you’re combining. It’s about time the mystic forge UI had an update. Let’s hope one is in the works.

You can use any 3 crests (5), orbs (15) or doubloons (4) to make amalgamated gemstones, so there are 24³ different recipes for them.
Should they all be put into the list?

Yes. In a way.

You wouldn’t want to put all 24^3 receipes in, but you could put in a recipe that’s generic and uses whatever gemstones/etc you’ve got most of to fill the gaps. That is to say, the recipe only indicates that it will take a crest/orb/doubloon without specifying the exact type of each, if that makes sense.

Also, there’s already nesting in the crafting lists. There’s no reason there couldn’t be nesting in the mystic forge list, or even multiple levels of nesting. Some smaller lists could be handled this way.

The recipes would be endless, as there are so much recipes that only call for a certain group of item (for example weapon promotion) and also give out random results.

the recipes are all obviously in the game, im sure someone smarter than me could find a way to represent that recipe without listing them all. all i can think of, is that the recipe just says amalgamated gemstone and if you have the stuff in your inventory you can make them.
