NA Worlds and their Time Zones
I don’t think there is any such thing. As far as I know, worlds (and now megaserver instances) have never been separated by time zone.
Most NA servers are busiest between 5 or 6pm Eastern time and 11 -12midnight Pacific Time. The busiest time being the center of that timeline. Except weekends and holidays, of course.
Edit for brain slip into neutral.

Tip – Don’t transfer to Sea of Sorrows, it’s the unofficial Oceanic server so a lot of people there play at different times to American players.

That’s dead in the water. The M-word has killed that.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?

The Megaserver still prioritises based on server, and it still applies for WvW. E.g. Sea of Sorrows is home to most Oceanic guilds which therefore has an impact on who you would be playing with in WvW and in PvE if they were doing a Guild Mission etc.
Its still dead in the water. If we both run out into Wayfarer at our peak time then we won’t be on SoS or IoJ, we’ll be on a megaserver. You know that.
WvW is the only reason to choose a server now.

Guild banks are also still server based. If the guild’s bank was created by a member on Server A, only guild members on Server A will be able to withdraw from the Server A Guild Bank. Members on Server B can create a bank on Server B if the guild allows it that would only be accessible on Server B.
Not only that but home server is used in the formula for what “overflow” to put you in should there be more than one with open slots. What weight that has vs friends and guild members, I don’t know. Probably less since you’d most likely rather play with friends or guild mates over strangers.

And if there are multiple megaservers it will put us with the one that has the most of our guild members or fellow server players in it….
I’m CST and on Sea of Sorrows. There has always been plenty of people on when I play.

Both valid points to note. Thanks. Although I suppose I should have included in my OP the fact that I have neither guild nor friends on my “home” server, Tarnished Coast. I guess I am one of those rare few that would rather play with strangers over friends or guild-mates.
Looks like I’ll be staying where I am then.
