NPC-only armors and faces compilation
I think those should be added to the cultural armorsmiths tbh :/
no no… wouldnt want to have charr with form fitting armor and especially headgear and hoods or norn with access to a bunch of norn-ish spirit themed armors..or more plant nonsence for the plant nonsence and more casual asuran and human clothes cause they seem to clearly hate having that stuff arround.
I sit and wait for That Sylvari dress with the yellow top and the leafy skirt.
It has such amazing detail. It’s such a waste that it can’t be worn by players who would appreciate the great amount of effort the artist put forth to make it. It’s nice to see the NPCs wearing it and admire the NPC for how well it’s created but at the same time it also creates a slight frustration for those who wish it wasn’t NPC exclusive.
I would say if this was a singular NPC wearing it and they were meant to be unique; that it would make some type of sense that players can’t use it. But the NPC that wears this dress is literally every where. From the Dream intro / tutorial for Sylvari to the grove to outside the grove wandering around. So it’s “nothing special” in the NPC-world but would be extremely special to players who’ve been staring at it for 3+ years.
This goes the same for all the other pieces we can’t obtain (that I lacked to observe). I’m rather just confused as to why we can’t seen these see any light of day.
A response “Sorry but we do not intend to include these at any time” might cause some salt to scatter about the forums but in the very least we could stop hoping and move on!
I think I saw a seraph NPC with a council guard helmet that wasn’t all scratched up
That Raven Shaman norn outfit is SO beautiful. +1 would pay 800 gems for that.
I would also kill for that male human blue robe set fourth from the left, the super detailed green corset top next to him, the charr top second from the right, that super fancy multicolored asura outfit, and basically ANY of the sylvari stuff.
Regarding faces, I would also love it if we could create characters across different races that resembled each other a little more. How about a sylvari with a square head that is more norn looking? Norn haircuts available for Asura?
I would dearly, dearly love to make my sylvari Marjoram Delaqua match her namesake, but there is not an updo with bangs available for sylvari (only the ponytails), nor are the sylvari female faces conducive to reproducing Jory’s asian eyes/epicanthic folds.
There needs to be a way to let players use this NPC only clothing. The art is already there, it just needs to be implemented.
Please and thank you.
I support this post. ~(._.~)

you forgot the most important one!
Kasmeer’s Bikini+Sandals
i really thought this summer we’d get the usual “beach life” outfits that most other MMOs do
and if it ever does get added i hope its as armour skins so i can finally make red sonja XD
Not to forget our “endless clothing tonic”. It would be nice to have them as an outfit or an aactual piece of armor.
Necro bump! So not to forget something some of us really want to see, to stick to the words that everything would be available to us!
Come on, Anet, some more cultural stuff would be amazing.
I would love to see these NPCs armors for us players... been waiting for many of them ever since beta but regardless how many forum threads or post I and others make, it wont matter
Sadly...
Personally, when it comes to important NPCs I do want them to have unique features so they’ll stand out. And not look like character X i’ve met 28 times along the way here
I still don’t understand why there even exist “NPC” exclusive skins and FACES. Cmon, the character creation should be improved whenever there is a chance to do so. Its important!
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

What if player X walks through the grove and sees the same model used for the pale tree 25 times, and then enters the dreamer’s conglave, and they see the real pale tree. Then they think, ‘oh, its another random person/npc with no significant value’
Thats why (at the least the important) NPCs need a unique appearance, to make sure you remember them and not think of them as random people/NPC
I can’t agree with you. The identity of the NPCs is made of a vast array of diverse elements, were the faces are only one. Also, the faces aren’t fixed, you can adjust and model them to detail.
People can make very accurate Scarlets right now, yet the NPC charisma and figure doesn’t suffer because that. People knows Scarlet anyway, and no one think she’s just a random npc without significant value because some players mimic her.
I think the variety of choices for the player are much, much, much more important than the “protection” of a very narrow, low on time screen, not very seen, super specific face of a NPC.

I really really really really really need the Norn Shaman armor … or the leggings at least! 5th picture in on the top row. Ive hoped that it would have made its way into the game by now. ANET PLS! lol
I have wanted these NPC outfits as Gem Store Outfits for the longest time.
I want a face like Trahearnes. He’s so pretty.
Still waiting for this. :>
Unfortunately I think most of these where made for the old “Town Clothing” system. And they probably planned to open up more of them over time, but never got around to it, or realized how much work it was to make those town clothes (and the clunky mechanics that they had, pity, it could have been great, still miss parts of it).
Couple of them like the Chef town clothes got changed into Outfits, rest wen the way of the Dodo, I mean Endless Potions.
So in short, I think all of those are still using the old “Town Clothing” system, as they probably never changed that for NPC’s (less work for them). Which means we won’t get them unless they redesign them to either become Outfits or rework into armor skins (honestly doubt they will ever do that).
So at this stage, the best we can hope for is that they make them into outfits, AND makes head, shoulders, gloves removable as on normal armor (some outfits do this). So we can at least color them.
Man I miss GW1’s option to enable/disable outfits in city/combat area, wish they did that with the old Town Clothing system instead of replacing it. Really miss being able to dress casually in towns.

While I think you’re right in some way, it still makes no sense for some NPCs, as I pointed out in the picture:
-Trahearne, for example, never had an unique face to begin with, since you can see tons of random Sylvari NPCs with the same face, either in the Grove, or in Nightmare Court villages. I think you even turn into a Courtier with his face in Briarthorn Den, if you play a medium armor class.
-Moto’s krewe members don’t have a major role.
-The bandits from the lv.10 human storyline don’t have a major role, and they die anyway.
There are also a few Asura random NPCs in the latest living story episodes with unique faces, but I guess that’s because we may get those at some point.

This hair is on the human wiki page??
It’s not in the final game nor is her face as far as I know?
Another NPC with an exclusive, beautiful face is Exemplar Salia from the Shining Blade- no idea why hers is exclusive.
HONESTLY Anet you have people begging you for new clothes, hair, and faces and you’re hoarding them for clone/nonvital NPCs? Figure it out!!
