This is the second time I’ve seen this in a month.

3-4 naked people running around doing something that cause candy corns to spawn, and they kill them all, and then run off again as a group to the next “culling”.

Grand Barrier Isle in Bloodtide Coast.

What is that all about?

I don’t know why they are unclothed (probably for fun) but what they’re doing is using Maize Balm to turn ambients into candy corns they can kill for loot, including Trick or Treat bags, which may contain rare things.

They’re likely naked to minimize the damage that they do so they can all tag.

Ah, interesting.

Is maize balm an unlimited use item or a limited consumable, and they are just buying them out of the TP?

I guess actually getting candy corn might be kinda neat to save up for bags. I have a node in my home, but it takes a long time to save up 1,000, much less 8x (?) that for a bag.

It’s a consumable item that’s not cheap. Please, if you see players doing this, be respectful and do not interfere. If you’d like to join them ask and respect whatever answer you are given. You can always wait your turn or find another location. If you are wondering, yes there’s etiquette to follow in game just as you would in life. Think of it like a game at a park. You wouldn’t run onto a basketball court and try grabbing the ball during a game, would you? That’s pretty much the equivalent of what running into players already engaged in an activity in game.

Ha, DeWolfe, tell that to the people that think a group of RPers make a fine target for aoe effects and naked dancing. They clearly don’t realize they are dropping trou in a public park and spraying graffiti on statues.

As to maize balm I’ll have to check what it’s selling for. I think I have a few vials of it somewhere and no interest in farming with it.

It’s pretty pricey, you’re probably better off simply saving gold to buy corn off tp for the bags.

I didn’t realize that the Halloween Pails were still in the game. Thanks Lorgus!

I horded candy corn during Halloween for the candy corn gobbler and once I achieved gold status in WvW, there wasn’t much point in using it anymore. I may still use it for levelling alts in EoTM, but I don’t need the 50 or so stacks I currently have.

I’d normally agree, but the place in question (if it’s the same one I encountered earlier while mapping Bloodtide Coast) is a renown heart. One of the ways to do the heart is kill the vermin (which include ambient crows and non-ambient rats). It’s honestly the fastest way to get the heart done, too. So, the farmers are killing SOME (not all; there are others that they don’t seem to head towards that you can still grab) of the needed objectives for the heart.

All that being said, when I was at that heart earlier, the group was pretty friendly and didn’t mind that some of us wanted to get the heart done; we finished up, and they went back about their maize balm farming business. So, yay for peace and harmony!
