I don’t know if I just pick wrong names but I have tried around 50 names with 15 or more characters and I can’t seem to find a name that works, I tried 19 random letters and even this doesn’t work. Is something wrong with the name check or is there just no name available anymore ?

Or is it the current server/internet problems we are currently experiencing?

considering the number permanently banned names created by spam bots…… its probably looking got some kind of check to flag them faster by weird names.

So far I’ve never had issues with names unless I’m trying to mimic something in pop culture. Edge lord names also seem to be taken up en mass.

I’m trying to use a victorian name, most of them have like 3 words so I don’t get why none of them work

If you’re doing this recently it might be related to the server problems.

But more generally what names, or what kind of names are you trying? Are you willing to give any examples?

I know there’s quite a few people on the forum who seems to find it quite easy to come up with available names so we might be able to help you find something that’s free, but it would be helpful to know what kind of things you want.

(Alternatively if you really don’t care try Gerand Mcavis or something like Allyiania. I’ve recently deleted characters with those names and I think it’s unlikely they’ll be taken. But I’m not completely sure what spelling I used.)

I know some names or parts of names are not allowed and random letters might be included in that because they’re very often used by gold sellers or botters (or by trolls who want to make it harder to report them, although the right-click function mainly gets around that). The only other one I know is not allowed is the letters G and M next to each other and not in the middle of a word. (Because of issues with people pretending to be GMs.)

In-game, you can try adding a desired name to your contacts to see if it is in use. But again, if the server is having issues, it won’t matter what you try.

After some more testing I think it is server related because Sometimes I can get a name and if I retest the same name it’s not there anymore. So I guess I’ll wait till tomorrow and try again
