Name a list of things to keep people playing
I think we have a thread like this at least once a month….
I don’t need anything new to keep playing I’ll be here for years to come. But, to contribute… maybe World Bosses should give a guaranteed EXOTIC weapon/armor. Rares aren’t as valuable
Restore that which was lost. And all shall be as one.”
All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.
Well. That, and something to deal with all the strong currents that otherwise would just keep pushing me back.
(In other words, more Tyria. Lots and lots more Tyria. Ships would be cool, too, although I suspect that might come too close to being a mount for some folks.)
I think the announcement of another WoW expansion is enough to keep me int his game as it stands.
In other news, I can’t really remember the last time any MMO was not ‘highly anticipated’. GW2 can’t really do anything to make sure people don’t check out other things that interest them. It’s a personal experience, you either enjoy playing it or you don’t. In general, mmo players are extremely fickle (just read these forums) and will float from game to game with the wind.
If the WvW is better than the alternatives then I stay.
If TESO can live up to what they are promising for RvR then GW2 stands to lose a large number of WvW players. Only time will tell.
Ya know, it might be cool to do something with the Orders.
Priory missions: explore and investigate other lands/lost realms/old ruins, etc.
Whispers missions: start moving into Elona; maybe some undercover/spy stuff.
Vigil missions: start moving into and establishing bases in other dragon-bashed areas.
We could have more Pact missions, too. Pushing into the as yet unopened areas of Orr, which could serve as post-personal story reclamation zones.
Almost anything would do, except more you know what.
A huge performance update is the only way to keep players they come see how horrible it is Cry that they wasted there $ then leave then come back a year later see nothing has been fixed and then finally also delete the webpage off there bookmarks and forget this game was ever made
I really don’t see what is bad about this game at the very moment. I love it.
Player housing, I can lose hours placing, decorating and moving items in a house.

Wow, I definitely agree with that actually.
I guess I misunderstood the OP. I thought you were asking for examples of things currently in-game to keep players from straying afar. Not suggestions for improvement.
Lol. Silly me!
There are some exciting ideas being bandied about in the CDI thread. Perhaps, great things are on the horizon!
