I know during the first few weeks after launch, if I deleted a character, that name would only be usable by me for 24 hours. Can you confirm that this is the case for the new name change contract?

Specifically, I’d like to change the name of one of my character to another character’s name. If I delete “Bob” and then get a name change contract, will I be able to change “Joe” to “Bob” or will I have to worry that someone could take “Bob” right after I delete him – before I have a chance to use the contract.

no idea sorry, i didn’t even know about that thing you mentioned, but i think you are not secured from everyone. Just delete a character whenever there are no many people and be quick to rename.

Odds are it counts as deleting a name, in which case your name is secured for 24 hours before being available to others.

We have already asked for clarification on this and they shoved the thread into players helping players which i think is pretty silly. Do they honestly expect players to spend 800 gems to gamble and find out rather than just have a developer clarify this ambiguous description, if so i change that from silly to sleazy.

Odds are if you read the description of the item you will see it states your old name will be reserved for 24 hours, yes, just like old times.

Yes, we have read the description and see that the name we abandon (I read that as the one you don’t want to keep) will be held in reserve for 24hrs.

What some of us are asking is, will the system recognise the name of the alt we deleted “belongs” to us via the new contract system.

We know how it works during character creation and I can hope it works the same with the Contract. We’d just like some verifcation before spending money on those 800 gems.
