Hey everyone,
I love this game but whenever I want to make a new character its a big pain in the but because all the names I want are taken. When I first played this game I thought awesome… I can have the same account name as other people because they gave me a 4 digit code, so when 2 people with the same name are on… it shows the code.
I thought can’t they do the same for in-game character names? Use that code whenever someone with the same name is in you’re area? I am really tired of the message telling me that the name is unavailable.
What do you guys think?

I believe you’re confusing your ingame character name with your account’s display name. The display name gets the four-digit code if there are two of them; character names cannot have duplicates.

I think be more imaginative with your names.

If you are trying to make lore appropriate names this is easy to do with surnames for your human, norn and charr characters, crewe titles for your asura, and birth times for your sylvarii.

I have yet to have an issue with any of the names I have tried.

I personally don’t like this idea, as i spent a lot of time thinking of a unique name, and it would just be overall chaos all over if thousands of people were named “slayer” and you had to type four or (most likely) more numbers every time you wanted to whisper that person.
