Names reserved?
When I see your nickname here I try to guess what nicknames you’ve tried ingame. Looks like they was truly exclusive =). Anyway reservation works for 24 hours as I’ve heard, and try to use 2 worlds in nickname.
Well my account name isnt something that I really took time to create since I could take anything I wanted, but I have taken all the things I wanted to call my character that were taken and translated them to latin and still no progress. I have alse gone through old game mobs/monsters I like and even those are taken or reserved, even though I’m pretty sure it has been 24 hours since the release
Welcome to the problems of character names being unique across ALL servers. I got in literally in the first 5 minutes the game was live on headstart, and about 90% of the names I had that I would try were taken or reserved (I had a list as I did anticipate SOME would be taken). In the end I only got 1 name that I wanted out of 10 I had written down.
The system is frustrating to say the least. However as Kreit said if you try to go First and Last name (this game allows spaces in names yay!) you may have more success.
Spent 3 hours trying to name my first character since almost all the names were either taken or reserved. Would be nice if we could get an answer to this question.
Two part names are easy to create. If u want a good 1 part name try: http://www.rinkworks.com/namegen/. Also olde English such as Chaucer is a good source for names.
This just makes me even more confused, because I though EU players had no way of getting in contact with US ones and therefor I see no use for the unique names to be shared across all servers.
In reguards to reserved names they will be released at a later time thats still to be disclosed. Try doing multiple word names if your having issues with one word names. Once you get to multiple words in general a lot of names open up. I know people that even go as far as First MI Last.

Ok this really helped, thanks

The main reason its this way is because in the first game you could swap between zone servers with the click of a button. Due to this the name’s had to be unique across all servers. Since this game is directly linked to GW1 it only makes sense that the same rule set would apply.
I really have no clue what’s up with the names in this game. Names I have used for over a decade, some truly unique and virtually all were taken.
