  • Lion’s Arch was destroyed on February 18th, 2014.
  • One real-life day is equivalent to 12 Tyrian days (2 hours long).
  • It has now been over 8 real-life months since the destruction. That’s 240 real-life days.
  • That’s 2880 in-game days, (or approaching 8 years) for our toons.

Just sayin’… I thought I’d see a little more progress.

Didn’t ArenaNet mangle update Tyria’s calendar so that it matches our own?

And the passage of time occurred at the same rate anyway? Unless you mean the day/night cycle in-game, which isn’t actually the passage of time for the lore.

Progress? Nonsense. Be quiet before they cut out more content.

Maybe Commander Talon’s ghost is overseeing the building plans and he doesn’t think it’s worth rebuilding, as there’s really no need at all. “We’re fine as we are! You think we need to rebuild? Hah! We’ve withstood months without any progress. Why expend the effort because a few people want a pretty little city?”

{crumbling house collapses on Talon’s ghost}

“Not again…”

Or words to that effect.

Yeah lorewise it’s supposed to be the same time passage as our own. We killed Zhaitan 2 years ago.

From ruins we prosper, maybe they understood it wrong this time?
But also if 1 real life year means 12 years ingame, wouldnt already over 24 years passed since release? And we know people in Tyria barely gets older than 60. So if another 2 years are passing our characters wont survive it (assuming they were 18 when their jorney started).

I guess a Tyrian game-year must be 4380 days then. I wonder if they divide that up into 144 months?

The underlying sentiment remains. I’d like to see some progress. Lion’s Arch was the central social hub. With LA gone, and the Megaserver in charge of the universe, I have felt like a stranger in a strange land.

Yeah, the story matches the real world. That’s why after Mordremoth woke up and attacked all the world leaders we decided to take a break for a few months and deal with the Bloody Prince and the Mad King having the exact same issues they had last year.

It’s a shame there’s so much dedication to coherence and pacing in the story telling. If they were just a bit more relaxed on it they might have been able to find a way to fit something outlandish like “Moto hits the on switch on SAB” into the narrative.

There is progress, Skritts took over the black market and soon will rule the underworld of LA. Prepare yourself to see people getting murdered by a bunch of Skritt while the leader of the group says: “Luigi, you dont kitten around with the Skritt family”

He meant the day/night cycle in-game.

Just another point where the “calendar syncing” gets confusing, since in every other case, ambient visuals tend to indicate lore.

I know you’re making a joke, but that progress happened back in with the Festival of the Four Winds.

And it’s been how long since then? But between Battle of LA and Festival, it was how long?

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

That’s really interesting! I’ve also been thinking about this...
