Necro or Warrior
If you’re planning on farming, I’d choose necro over warrior any day; you have a much easier time tagging mobs with a necro, since you have multiple wells, marks, and other AOEs with short cooldowns. And a necro isn’t underpowered at all as long as you’re set up to do direct damage rather than condition-only damage (for pve, anyway). I’d also personally choose necro over warrior for pvp, but different people like different things.
Awesome! Any particular reasons you prefer Necro over Warrior in PvP?
I’d go war. It’s easier in spvp…significantly. War also has swiftness (perma) for mapping that doesn’t put you in combat+sword leap gs dash ww to make it even faster. I find necro’s aoe to not hit hard and fast enough for decent farming. Besides why would you use anything to farm pve other than loot stick? Idk, Ive done 100% mapping on 7 professions and am on 70 something with my 8th my necro…there’s a good reason I left it to last. I am very much hoping GS with the expansion changes things for my nec.

I’m terrible at pvp, so I’m probably the wrong person to ask. But what I like about it are the constant conditions I’m putting on others, my second health bar (Death Shroud), and the downed state options you have as a necro.

Conversely, my necro was my first character I got to 80, my first character (and one of the easiest, for me) to get 100% map completion, and remains my “main” character (even after now having 12 characters). Plus, necros have a speed signet (constant +25% movement speed) and spectral walk (which gives you swiftness for 30 seconds), neither of which put you in combat.
Different people like different things.

I would personally play necro for pvp, quite fun and pretty easy to dominate. Also for sw I find my necro to be awesome
Choose necro! Its easier and has more pewpew!
Thats all!
Despite their underdog status, I absolutely adore necromancer. so much fun to play and pretty diverse, too.
Everyone and their mother has a warrior, they’re easy to play, boring and bland.

HUGE opinion there lol. Extremely vague without much detail whatsoever. This- ladies and gentlemen, is what we try to avoid here on the forums.
I would strongly recommend to ANYONE playing this game to play as a warrior. I feel as though many of the mechanics in this game favor a more mobile class- i also LOVE the feeling of being able to stand toe to toe with anything and butcher it.
While the Rifle and the Bow are a bit strange on a Warrior- i ADORE the rifle for killing world bosses as i’m not very fond of looking at a dragons foot the entire time- i like to sit back and blunderbuss that mother kitten.
I’m also GREATLY against having an AI companion as a mechanic in my gameplay- i like to be COMPLETELY self reliant and wish for other- real players to follow my lead as i burst into combat with axe and sword- shouting FOR GREAT JUSTICE along the way.
BONUS: Screenshot of another warrior and i exploring a cave.
Necro, always Necro. Warriors are just boring and everyone and their dog plays one. Necromancers get awesome staff skins, the theme of the class is cool (undead, poison clouds, minions, dark magic) and trolling entire zergs in WvW/EotM with fear is hilarious. It’s pretty amazing for farming, too. And imo light armor looks so much better than heavy, and has much more variety.
Yes, definitely necromancer.
