if you remove the legendary from the equation.. pistol skins just dont stand out from each other.

maybe look at introducing some actual real life pistol skins.. weve got the revolver… but thats it….

Maybe it is just me, some legendary are jokes. Legendary pistol, mace, shortbow are legendary toys to me. I rather use pact pistol, mystic pistol or vigil pistol instead.

There are actually some nice pistol skins, the problem is that they are typically small and unnoticeable. At least I find I don’t notice people’s pistols very often. Swords, staves, greatswords, hammers, shields, bows you notice right off the bat. Foci, warhorns, pistols you typically don’t.

yeah.. if we cant show off our skins maybe it would be better if we could hear them… give them better sound effects

I think we have a decent list of great looking pistols. But that’s just me

I think the biggest issue is that pistols are really small and hard to see.

But I don’t like very many of the pistol skins either so I’d be down with more skins. The Amberite pistol is the first pistol skin I’ve really liked in a long while.

Personally, if I ever wanted to get a legendary, the only one I’d be interested in would be Quip, it fits perfectly my mesmer. The other ones either I don’t like too much, or don’t fit any character that could use them.

Personally, I think there is a nice selection of pistols across different styles (check here). Problem with the pistols, however, is the same than with daggers (for example), they’re less noticeable because they’re just smaller, and I don’t really see how that can be fixed. How big could you make a pistol, for example, before it starts being the same size than a rifle? (same with a dagger and a sword), specially if you’re constrained by the existing animation.

Still, I’ll never object to getting more skins of anything..

I will admit, though, that I hate Quip. I do not want to be packing Pinkie Pie’s Party Pistol :P

I will admit one skin I would like to see. I’d love to see exposed barrel pepper boxes with barrel rotation animation on fire.

I have [Lyss] & [Ilya] skins on my main thief they are awesome. I think they look awesome together, especially when linking in /map chat. Also I prefer them over [Quip]

Pact Pistols, Tormented Pistols and Mystic Pistols look awesome to me too.

Of course, this is all just a matter of personal taste though!

Quip is quite literally one, indeed, and meant that way. Should we get an appropriate jester/clown costume i might even tinker a 2nd one. ^.^ For a character not meant as a comical anti-hero Quip is hardly suitable, though.

I’d also like to see bigger & more distinct pistols, like most one-hand weapons they are hardly distinguishable on Asura. Is it just me or are asura held weapons really 1Hs really scaled down a little to far?

Oooh, that’s great. We should be able to individually name our Legendaries… (Needle, some1?). In that case I’ll just steal Azure’s idea. “Pinky Pie’s Purple Party Popper” ^.^

Its funny to see all the responses about pistols being too small to be noticed, when my own personal beef is that so many weapons, especially the newer skins, are so HUGE! I don’t want a dagger that looks like a sword, I dont want a sword that looks like a kayak! I love the fact that many of the pistols are small; they let me create subtly unique characters.

Hehe, I’m much the same way! I generally find myself wanting smaller pistols. Some of the pistols look so stupidly large on my petite female Mesmer. I’m currently using the Vigil pistol on her; before I used the Krytan pistol. I’m still searching for a small, compact-looking pistol that blends a look of magic/technology while still looking like a pistol. (So not stuff like the Torment pistol.)

Actually pistol legendary is one of my least favourite…
When I use high tech weapon like guns / pistols, I do not want some toy gun, I want the real one, ones that look realistic and cool. (That’s why I dislike shiny pistols too)

Personally my absolute favourite pistol is Aetherize pistol, and I really wish them having a discount to 1 ticket for a short period of time.

What you’re thinking of are, indeed, called machine-pistols. I made this suggestion way back at launch. Thieves’ Unload skill makes absolutely no sense with a flintlock pistol. O.o I would kill a baby Quaggan to get hold of a couple Mac 11s though!!!!

Let’s please differentiate here, imo tiny one-hand weapons are mainly an asura-specific problem.

Thus enters the Phoenix pistol skin. Kitten enormous and cool as hell.

i would love some small Shotgun skins

or small sub machinegun looking pistols

or even pistols that look like a Blowtorch ( engineers)

Pistol with Lazer sight would be awesome….

have the lazer beam only go as far as the range on the weapon

As someone who owns an MP5K (full auto), I’d love to see someone try to shoot that accurately one-handed lol.
