Guild Wars 2

Hi guys,

I’m rather new to the game and I was getting help putting together a set for my ranger. I was sadden to find out that the shoulders they recommended me are no longer obtainable. The shoulders are the Stalwart shoulders, so I was wondering if anyone could help me out and recommend me an alternative pair of medium shoulders for my set I’m putting together.

What a fellow kind soul put together for me was this.
Shoulders – Stalward
Chest – Seeker
Pants – Seeker
Boots – Duelist
Bow – Vigil’s Honor

Her result was awesome, but sadly those shoulders are no longer obtainable.

Please help me find a good alternative pair of medium shoulders, I would greatly appreciate it!

I’m thinking your best bet may be to pursue the Marauder shoulder skin (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Marauder_armor) for that look.

Noble is a flatter-than-most medium shoulder, too, but I think Marauder may be closer to Archer’s look.

On a side note, I hadn’t realized Stalwart was no longer in the game. I suppose I am lucky I’ve got it unlocked. Does anyone know why-- or was it merely a victim of the wardrobe updates back when it was expanded beyond the PvP locker?

There is a check mark to hide shoulders if you want. Not sure if you like the current look you have with just the shoulders hidden or not. I ran into the same thing on my thief and ranger which both use medium armor.. For me I just went with the Leather coat and hid my shoulders since I really couldn’t find anything I really like.

You might want to wait for HOT (if you have purchased it). With one of the mastery tracks there will be new vendors who will be selling old recipes/stuff. You never know that skin you want may just be at one of these vendors.

Just thought of this as well. If you go to a bank you can select the wardrobe storage from there. You can right click and preview every skin even if you do not own it. Maybe try that and see if you can find one you like. Then the only thing you would have to do is find out where that skin comes from hehe. Usually when I find something I like there that I do not have I type /wiki name of item in the chat box and that brings up the wiki for that item and it usually tells you where to obtain it or what drops it.

Got my ranger up right now and looking through possible pieces for you:

-Buccaneer (flat and tight fitting to the shoulders)
-Marauder (same as above)
-Noble (small, flat)
-Outlaw, (tight fitting, buckled)
-Rawhide (small, tight fitting)
-Rogue (very tight fitting, fits form very well)
-Scout’s (shapely but quite form-fitting again)
-Seeker (rounded and form-fitting)
-Swindler (same as above)

Quite easy to preview any of these you don’t have, just go to the bank and click the wardrobe icon on the bottom left of the side-pane. It will show you all skins in game and you can then filter by weight and item. Just click anything you want to preview.
