This is something that would make the game more enjoyable for someone like me, who likes to play a variety of builds. Right now, it is a pain to rebuild, re-stat, re-trait, rearrange armor/trinkets/etc in between builds. For both pve/pvp there should be the ability to save at least 3 builds, and for pve automatically take away the money used for re-traiting.

I agree, being able to save builds with the appropriate traitss, utility set up, and equipment would be a very nice addition.

We do need this. Even though it would probably be tied to the traits npc and cost us more silver to swap to a saved build, given the current reputation anet is building with adding a cost to do anything.

It would be good to just pay the swap price and switch your skills/traits all at once.

Yes, please. This is one of the major features that some of my friends have left the game to return to GW1 for. GW1 allowed for dynamic build changing and the saving of favorite builds, and they hated how rigid and inflexible GW2’s build system feels to them.

I’m actually amazed that GW2’s devs didn’t think to implement this right out of the gate. It should have been a priority.

Remember when our developers talked about “strengthening the core game”?
How’d that work out for us so far?
Now let’s try some ideas that will really work.

I would love to be able to save templates like we did in GW1. Heck if they need a gold sink with this, just have a one time fee for each extra template that we are allowed to have.

I’d love to be able to experiment with different trait setups along with different weapons and utility skills. That was actually the best part of GW1, coming up with different builds. I’d like to see that come to GW2.

bumped because this needs to be implemented and the arena net team should be disappointed in themselves for after a year, still not having this mechanic implemented.

If i go into a pvp match, and its a bunker vs bunker matchup, i want to be able to adjust my build accordingly before the match starts without have 1 minute to do so.

If i am using my build for mobility to farm nodes and i stumble upon a world event, i want to be able to change my build so i can adjust for the event.

what is going on here?!

I agree with OP.
I know game now keeps track of your current PvP & PvE builds separately but it’s not enough.
I miss the GW1 build Templates – they were simple and effective.
This lack of templates or any other save\load options means making any significant changes is a slow process and so I rarely change or experiment with my builds.

Maybe I’m just lazy, but I can’t remember which traits I should use when I want to change my Weapons or Skill types – and it just means I don’t bother.

Surely it shouldn’t be that hard to implement a template system for Traits, Weapons, & Skills like the one the GW1 had?

This comes up now and then and I am guessing it would get a lot of use. When going from one event to another I would like a way to change my traits, skills, weapons, even outfits and minis … but rarely have a chance to do so. If I am lucky maybe equip a different weapon. It would also help to ‘remember’ good builds so you can experiment with others more freely.
