Needs to be another method for Weapon Tickets
Please …if you ever do listen … remember this..don’t make it all the same… just make it so some can still be very lucky and get something right away, just make it so there are no extremely unlucky players, like add scraps that always drop that eventually can get you what you want so no one quits out of frustration on never getting anything.
This my sentiment as well, and I dont mind buying a ticket for 800 gems, heck, make it 1,000 gems for that matter, at least I can self justify the money I spend for doing that. Think of it in the sense of a pack of cards, Youd get a bunch of commons, 1-3 uncommons and 1 in 3, a rare, 1 in 10 a super rare. These skins are only super rares because you make them the 1 in 50 trend as they seem to be on, its honestly not worth my time and money as I see these skins as just a filler til I get my legendary anyways.
So do what you like ANet and keep running the ragged edge, sooner than later the flood gates will open and except instead of people coming to this great title, they will be leaving. Many say if a player doesnt like it, to go play something else, sure we can do that, which doesnt benefit ANet or NCSofts bussiness whatsoever and ultimately hurts the social mass part of this venue in the mid run, I say that because people are hanging on as we are chasing the carrot on the string. Eventually though, we will be bored with the same old carrot that has now begun to rot.
true fanbois dont sugarcoat their criticisms and surely dont need to brown nose. They say it like it is, because sooner then later, someone is gonna recognize the fallacy in happenings and then itll be a “new” bugfix.
I posted my opinion on this matter in another thread, but i’ll repost it.
This whole RNG experience for these skins has really left a sour taste in my mouth with this game and ANET all together. I’m MASSIVE on aesthetics. The staff skin would really suit my necromancer and i really want it, but i can’t have it…because i refuse to take part in this RNG ripoff. Converted all of my gold, and farmed like crazy and ended up with around 60+ crates and not one single ticket. If the RNG is that bad, then i will not spend real money on luck. Why bother even spending real money on the crates when i hear people reporting that have opened 200+ crates and have no ticket?
I would have spent around £20 for the skin upright from the store. If ANET continues to go down this route with RNG being the only way for the playerbase to obtain exclusive skins then i will simply go to another MMO.
I agree. RNG is too much especially with the frequency of new skins. Sure we can earn some like the flower for example, this is the way to go or if you want give us a temp currency like the socks or baubles to turn in for skins. Heck just sell them outright in the store or make them tradeable. My main gripe is that for the main game we have had zero skin updates, in a cosmetic based game. Most things are either RNG or temporary or both. This one thing is my main complaint atm
I really like the idea of this. But it has been said before, even in precursor related threads, hence im getting the impression devs dont want this idea or sumthin… but that’s just my sentiment on it :P
Just make them tradeable. I’m sure those who got lucky and got 3 tickets frim 20 chests would be more than happy to sell the extra tickets and those really unlucky people would be more than happy to know taht they need to save x amount of gold for a ticket.
Or 500 gems per skin in the gemstore for a week and I’ll be happy about it(liek the wintersday skins).
Super Adventure Box had the perfect core system.
You could work for what you wanted, although that was entirely personal and non-tradeable (i.e.: you couldn’t farm a profit), or you could get lucky and earn a hefty sum through a tradeable weapon.
I don’t mind them adjusting how difficult it is to attain something (as long as it’s reasonable of course), but I want to be able to actually earn what I want through work, and not just hope I get lucky, and if I don’t happen to be lucky, all I’ve done was for nothing.
Alternatively, just sell the items for gems. I don’t mind paying for items, but I refuse to dump money into a lottery. I farmed over 50 supply crates in southsun for the one skin I really wanted. Not ONE claim ticket. Not. One. I’m not mad enough to shell out real money for 50 more crates for a whole new wad of nothing.
Really we just need something then pure lottery , there needs to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Yup.
This RNG bullkitten is what’s killed my interested in these events.
Anet needs to take a page from Trion’s upcoming cash shop.
You want something to enhance your in-game experience? You buy it. And you have it.
Novel idea no?
I’m actually looking forward to Rift going FTP. I don’t mind spending my RL cash when I know what i’m getting. Soon as it goes live i’ll be gladly plunking down 40 bucks to get some mounts and armor skins that look kitten.
Throwing you RL cash down on a ‘maybe’ is just stupid imo.
Dear ANet. You were supposed to be the ‘chosen one’.
Sigh
Yes. Yes. A million times yes.
Totally agree! Even with the new Dragon Bash content next week, it seems the Jade weapons are only attainable from tickets… I never have been a gambling man so I wouldn’t mind earning it through tasks or straight out buying the weapon.
PLEASE ANET!

Thanks for reminding. Yeah this is pretty much the kind of system I can fully agree with
