Q:

I completely disagree that the high level characters are nerfed in the maps on a lower level. To craft weapopnsmith I need huge quantities of bronze and I have to fight for it with wolves or else risking to die, of course I go to the auction and buy it , but this is not worthy of a serious game and this fact every day makes me stop wanting to play!
PS: sorry for the bad english.

I ignore them and get the mats and run off to the next spot. Pretend they are not there.

The point is challenge. Everyone, no matter what level, should have the same challenge getting the same materials. This means that higher level players don’t have a serious advantage over lower level players for materials. It’s intended and many people like it including me lol.

I personally love that they do this. It means that there is a hell of a lot more game to play through in the long run.

I don’t understand well. Is this a complaint against downscaling? And generally you really shouldn’t need bronze at level 80.

This opens the entire world to a level 80 character to continue exploring and experiencing new events. Even if you have already seen all of the 1500 events that are in the world, which I doubt any player has, Anet will be adding new events on a regular basis. This means that you can go back to a 1-15 zone at level 80 and experience new content. That to me is an incredible aspect of the game and certainly trumps “I want to farm low level mats without any resistance”

Unless they blew by all the content just to hit 80 as soon as possible. Which is very likely.

I think that the high level characters in a low level zone have more attack/defense than low level characters. Imo i adjust more the “nerf” for allow high players have a real risk while they explore.

Oh trust me they do
When my guardian was running the gamut on all the start zones I was definitely smacking down a lvl 5 mob in Sylvari territory easier than I did in my homeland when I was lvl 5 pure

But should you pull several mobs to you…expect to have a 50/50 shot at living

I see this as two things.

1) You’re only being downscaled a few levels in which case, no you’re not some all powerful uber-player and this is working as intended.

2) You are being downscaled to a degree of 50 levels or more in which case you’re doing something incredibly wrong if you’re being threatened by a sub-level-10 wolf while farming mats…

Translation. I want easy mode everywhere else when I get higher level.

I love that the level scales. It makes every zone a possible danger and adds huge replay value.

Ya know when I am lvl 30 and run through a lvl 5 area I feel like the king as I shread everything I see. How is a lvl 80 running through the same zone in any type of danger? Weapons, Armor and traits are still keeping you stronger than a normal leveled player in the area.

If you really have a problem roll a Thief for your farmer. You can run strait through everything, drawing all the agro you want and lose it just by going stealth.

Lastly the most important crafting material is a drop from killing things. You can’t harvest them you must kill…argument is now null and void as your real argument is ‘I want to kill everything with one orb so I can get the drops.’

I have no problem with this and I am still as powerful at lv 3 as I am at lv 63. Reason? My traits and skills and build allow me to two shot these things along with bleeding being way too strong. The down level only really hurts me if I get more than 5 foes on me and even then, its not too much of a fair fight for them.

Having your lv 80 armor skill traits and weapons should keep you alive unless you let that wolf smack you 50+ times and are not paying attention.

Personally in some places (Queensdale), I think the down leveling isn’t enough. Others (Lonar’s Pass/ Matrica Provence) its too much with the rapid spawn rates. Nonetheless, if they surround me, they will be facing my earthquake and churning earth and dieing in 10 seconds or less.

The above poster is right you need to kill stuff to get enemy parts to make things. Unless of course you are a Jeweler… then you really are what you are saying you are.

The class “de-levelling” is on purpose and there are no plans to remove this process so this thread will be closed. Thanks for the feedback though.
