So yea, I want quests back. No I’m not talking about the kill ten rats quests. I would like to see quests back in GW2. Hard quests, long quests that offer great rewards.

Originally I thought that the three orders would send us on journeys like this. I thought if I picked a certain order I would get special missions all over the world. But no, whatever you pick you end up with a premade story line. I would like if you could implement quest givers for each order…

I know other people feel the same way, and I dont know exactly what I want, but I want some kind of quests that are epic and rewarding. ANET I think you have dug a whole where you said there will not be any quests in GW2 and you cant get out of it.

But what if you made GOOD quests, people would love them.

Just my 2 cents. Make some quests that are well made and people will appreciate it.

I wish picking a order would mean more than a different story line…

I’m totally on board with this idea. As someone who loves traditional questing it would be nice to see some now and then. I feel as though they’re missing from the game sometimes.

I used to play runescape back in the day and the quests on that were really emerging and very difficult! you got great rewards for it aswell, GW2 should do something like this but obviously better.

I think it would be cool if we had instanced questing similar to the personal storyline (ie an instance) that our order gives us.

I disagree, personally, unless they can make it so you don’t feel alone. One of my major problems with GW1 was all the instancing the game had. If I wanted to play alone I’d play Skyrim. I personally prefer to be in the open world.

Storyline quests are good here an there but I’m actually glad they’re not constant.

Yeah I see your point there but I don’t think it would be too bad if we had assassination quests from the Order of Whispers that came to us randomly via mail XD

I don’t miss traditional questing at all. I hate backtracking. The system in place now works wonderfully, and is unique.

They actually could’ve done something like that with Legendaries.

Mixing it up between Personal Stories and basic grind. You could get some nice background lore on the legendaries too lol.

Speaking of the Orders. I would love to see more “quests” of those. They could just fun things that could test your skill and stuff in return for fluff rewards. Like Order of Whispers, you’d have a stealth mini-game to assassinate or steal from someone, and it could actually be tough, a legit stealth game. Or another one where you actually have to fight a boss with it’s own mechanics and it actually being difficult.

The one thing that questing does in both mmos and rpgs is create background lore and stories. As it stands, there’s no deep story quests outside of the main line which kind of sucks for lore building.

If implemented correctly, I would not kitten. But walking in to a camp, clicking 6-8 people with a quest marker, then rolling out to do everything, only to later return…do not want.

I don’t think anybody wants that kind of style…As noted above “No 10 boars” quests =P

Anybody who wants a questing system is probably done their personal story and/or just wants more fill of lore or things to do on your own. Doing dynamic events is fun but sometimes you just want something that isn’t as shallow (ie stop the centaur waves, kill the leader). There’s hardly any mascots or characters to like because we’re not really given any to like outside of our personal storyline. =(

The lore is out there, it’s just not shoved down your throat. Talk to the heart guy and they’ll tell you why you’re doing what ever it is.

You know what we need? Zaishen dailies that have random areas and events to do/pvp objectives/dungeons.

I’d rather have more dungeon quests if anything.
I don’t miss normal quests in the least, just the thought of it gives me chills.
