I couldn’t find another Nevermore topic (am I using the search function wrong?) so I just wanted to tell the designers that I love the final weapon and I loved the journey.

The steps in tier 1 and 3 especially were very interesting to do as a charr because of the particular historical connections to the human subject matter for a bunch of it (and GW1 lore). I imagine doing this on a norn would give a different feeling altogether. In other words, when I was doing things in Ascalon I felt an emotional connection as a charr – I felt a sense of responsibility for the past – but when doing the spirit stuff in Shiverpeaks, I felt like just a guest dipping my toe in lore that is not part of my culture. I bet it would be a different experience as a norn. I could go on… So good job on depth and breadth and an internal feeling of differentiation depending on what race you are.

People have complained that there isn’t enough story in the legendary journeys. But something about the attention to particular kinds of collectibles built a larger story in my head, even though it was just one or two sentences at a time. I think it really works. The tier 4 collection is like 60-some things, for example, so it really starts to add up and come together as a big idea. Good job to the story folks also!

And a word to the economists – of course it is a pain to gather so many materials in tier 2, but it’s a great material sink to keep the economy healthy, and a reasonable thing to ask of an end-game player looking for something epic to do, so good job there as well!

Good job guys!

May I advise doing the shortbow quest too. Or at least collection 1. Most of Nevermore t1 I did accidentally whilst doing other things, so didn’t get much journey from it like you did. The shortbow has a subcollection which exemplifies the sort of great content Anet are capable of.

That said, I will probably continue Nevermore to the end eventually, since people say so many great things about the collection as a whole.

The search tool is broken btw.

Really??? I just felt it was a quick port and fetch quest. Go here to this old heart npc , get his crap and then dump it when you’ve unlocked the collection.

Emotional connection?? Are you serious?

I may give Nevermore a shot later after I cool down from having gone through Juggernaut. In hindsight I think I could have bought the precursor from the TP for less gold than it took to craft it (at least it feels that way). So much of phase 1 and 2 of the journey involved just getting or buying materials. That portion at least didn’t feel very legendary. When I’d move on to another step in the collection I remember thinking a couple time (somewhat sarcastically) “oh surprise, something that requires yet another 10 deldrimor steel ingots…”

Looking forward to tackling the next journey though. Maybe Nevermore will be it.

If you don’t like to have to get some materials, doing Nevermore is probably a bad idea. It’s worse than older legendary.

I agree with Randulf. If you enjoyed the scavenger hunt aspect, then I’d check out the legendary shortbow precursor collection. I’ve only done tier 1 so far, but I really, really enjoyed it. And now that (most of) the bugs for it have been fixed, it’s even better. It’s a fun chain.

Thanks for the new shortbow collection advice. I peeked in and the huntsman journal looks cool – a subcollection of lots to do, it looks great. Plus baby tigers.

I’ll be ready to commit to another legendary journey after my wallet fattens up again. It’s feeling pretty slim after Nevermore haha.

I felt Nevermore collections were a bit bland, too. It is far from perfect.
