New Areas not displaying completion, why?
The Devs implemented the newly added areas this way. I’m not sure about the ‘why’, maybe so each player would have the same experience in regards to amount of effort needed for map completion. /shrug
Many of us got world completion and the title for it as well as the reward before those areas were added.
I think a lot of people would be annoyed if they just took it away from us every time they add a new area.
By the same token, new people will have to explore so much more without getting more reward. That’s unnecessarily punishing.
Maybe they should have their own completion achievement point reward apart from world completion.

Adding it as an achievement in the living story achievements section wouldn’t go amiss!

There were PoIs and WP’s added that count for map completion> Doing it for new areas would be simply extending the current tradition (if you got 100% completion, you keep it, if you didn’t, you need to do the new stuff too) only a bit further.

I don’t understand, it’s just simpler if you already have the star for map completion and simply doesn’t obtain another one no matter how many more maps they add… actually, not a big deal, it’s just a little annoying not being able to see all completions filled.
Still, I’d like a dev response about this.
Not sure that they need to respond….since the maps do NOT count toward the World Completion titles, they don’t have world completion counters….fairly simple to figure out without a Dev telling us.

I hope that they remove WvW from world completion (it’s not part of the world dangit), adds a bunch of vistas and skill challenges (maybe more PoI if meritable) to Southsun, and then add those two new zones (plus a reworked, enlarged, Labyrinthine Cliffs? Pwease?) to world completion.
Then add a separate, less rewarding, track for WvW+Edge of the Mists+Heart of the Mists. Mists Completion.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I think the way they are doing map completion is good the way it is. It is a good way to know the “original” game because I am sure the world map will look different after a few years it also is a good amount of content to explore for a title. WvW is the boss battle to that title lol! Original WvW and not new maps like EotM imo should be the only ones to count for title.
