i love the guild of wars game and i love how ive customized my character to look the way it does but the game needs more armors. For instance instead of making the outfits from the cash shop why cant they make more armor sets so i can customize my characters more. there are so many outfits in the gem shop that look really awesome and i would buy if they where armor sets. the customization feature is one of the main things i love about this game but more and more outfits are coming out and not enough skins to make my own unique looking character. most of my friends stop playing Gw2 because of this and i really love this game. i would hate to stop playing this game because there wont be any change to it.

They’ve already said that all gem shop items going forward are going to be outfits and not armor. Armor is only going to come in the form of in-game rewards, which probably means the odd helmet or shoulder here and there for Living Story and a handful of new sets for expansions.

Its something a lot of people aren’t happy about, but enough others must be happy and buying outfits to make it the better choice for Anet financially. And in terms of development time, since they’ve said it takes months to create a single armor set due to needing to create different weight classes and account for all the race / gender combinations, while outfits are much less work to make.

ArenaNet’s problem is that they created too much work. The legs and chest specifically has to be fit for each body type of each gender of each race, which is why they always skip them. Outfits have that same problem of course, but armor ends up being 3x the work because of the 3 weights. The design of armor also has less freedom because it needs to fit a specific pattern.

It wouldn’t be ideal, but the best thing ArenaNet could do is abandon the weights. That way armor isn’t 3x the work.
