I want to give you here my personal feedback about the upcoming feature pack changes regardign the current new blow about the new beginning which handles alot of stuff for like 99% only new players, because everything else what that blog post part offers, is absolutely uninteresting, obsolete, pointless, senseless, regardless for all high end players with max level characters which have already played through the game countless of times, have already explored the game with multiple characters to 100% (which are no real 100% at all still), have like douzens of characters at Level 80 already and so on …

From those few sentences so far you might see, that my feedback about this block isn’t really the positive type one and that I would like to see those things that disturb me to get improved with a few suggestions regarding to these points.

Its really lazy and very lame to come up with so many improvements of the game in many factors, which imprve the game for 99,9% only for fresh new players and to give to all of the veteran players basically the big middle finger by not letting them get also a fair share through giving out retroactively rewards from all those new system changes by saying just only, that you sadly can’t give us retroactive rewards….

Out if which reason please??? What is so friggin hard about it to implement a function into the game, that checks once for those systems that are related, which Level a Character has to give out then periodically step by step slowly out retroactively rewards for all characters, that aren’t fresh new Lvl 1 Characters.

Many players are asking you for now 2 years that you improve the personal story through making it replayable, just like the Livign Story.
With that Change to the Living Story you basicalyl even delivered for yourself the solution, that makes basically Personal Story as a System so obsolete, that I start to think that it would be the best for the whole game, that you just merge both Systems together and redesign the NPCs like Braham, Taimi, rox and Co. into GW1 like Hero-Companions, that you could take with you, if you onto a Living Story Patch and just get them ditched out, once the Story moves ouver into a Personal Story Part which you have to do alone. But thats all an other topic..
I want to stay at the current changes that will come soon.

The point is – there are definetely ways how to make those system changes also rewarding for all of the existign characters that are already leveled up to the point of Max Level. There are multiple options, which you surely know also too, but you decided foryourself to go rather for the lazy and lame tour by just saying to all veteran players, that they will just get nothing, except of your ignorance for free and a butt kick on top of that.

I had alot of understanding for many changes in this game of the past, but this is it for the very first time, where I feel myself extremely disappointed by just getting left out completely, when the Devs self say, that those changes should be good for new players, AS LIKE veteran players, when in real they are only good for 99,9% of fresh new players, while veterans basically get absolutely nothing out of it.

Only because I own already x Max Level Characters absolutely doesn’t mean, that a veteran palyer also doesn’t deserve to receive the same rewards for those characters, like a fresh new palyer would get them soon, once he reaches with a character level 80.
Such a player had then to invest the absolute same amount of time and effort to get to the point, where now many veteran players are with their characters for now 2 years.

Next Post comes Part 2

Part 2:

Letting veteran players out, just indicates obviously, that it seems to be that Anet fears alot, that if they would give veterans out now retroactively rewards for all their already leveled up characters, that this would eventuelly affect too much the game economy mostly, I guess.
But seriously!! If thats the reason really, if I’m right with that assumption, then this is really ridiculous, when Anet has all the power to control all incoming items of the game economy with their speed and flow in by implementing time gating mechanisms that prevent massively that players would receive too quickly too many rewards from retroactive system changes!!

If even this isn’t whyever possible, then I’d like to see it becoming possible, that you make it possible to let our characters become able to get rebirthed to reset them, their personal story progress and their levels at wish back to Level 1 without losing any other character progress of gear ect (as we get so or so downscaled), so that also 2 year old veteran characters can get this way their rewards from leveling up, doing the personal story again ect. basically just like a fresh new created character, only with the veteran bonus as a little advantage, that we already have our characters for the replay then well equipped in good gear and have not to do those thigns then again in beginner junk.

When livign story is resetable and repeatable, then it should be easy to do the same with personal story, lettign our characters get rebirthed to reset their Level back to 1, so that their will also profitate from those system changes…
For a veteran player this would feel then just basically like doing another 80 levels to the countless of virtual thousands of level ups that we already have made past Max Lvl, just with the additional bonus, that we would finalyl get able to replay our personal story, to get the chance to make maybe some different decisions in the replay run and you ANet would get the chance to redesign the whole horrible zhaitan battle, to give players another incentive to replay their personal story.
You could also use this chance, to make the personal story more rewardign through new replay achievements, like you did with Living Story.

If you aren’t sure, how to do all this, make a CDI about it, so that we can discuss all together for solutions, how the personal Story System, and retroactive rewards should get handled for this game in the future and especially now basing on the next upcoming changes, which absolutely shouldn’t left out veteran players, as we deserve to get these rewards for our spent tiem and effort for maxing multiple characters too.

If this means maybe, that we get retroactively rewards only in a time gated pattern, that would be fine for me too, but nothing is worser, than just getting the dev middle finger and staying left out behind being completely ignored, only because it would be surely easier for you developers to handle all those changes without having to risk any game economy problems from too much given out retroactive rewards for all those already high leveled up characters, which surely are really alot by now to have a great affect on the item supply of the game and in the end this means, the game economy.

Yeah, forget this “New Beginning” business, we don’t want the Chinese model patched into the game. Leave it out.

I have to jump onto the wagon here: I am soooo disappointed with this announcement.
I’m starting to lean towards the mood that no major cool changes will ever happen.

I was very excited for what was coming, hoping it’d make me want to roll a lvl 1 character and have fun experiencing new changes. I was hoping that something would be replayable for lvl 80 characters. Maybe not rebirth, but something added to the game where my 80 must go back and collect lore or something that wasn’t there before.

The changes listed are just.. lacking. Ok, I get better loot. I honestly don’t mind the loot I get now while levelling because it’s all garbage anyway until you get to 80. You level too fast in this game (which is a good thing!) for loot in between levels to matter much. Ok, I get things in chunks now – but as a veteran, really, I know all that stuff, so levelling from lvl 1 will feel almost exactly same as before because there’s nothing new. (As opposed to having to unlock all traits doing game content – that change is awesome, and I was hoping for something similar). I really dislike the change with weapon skills – I love that I have to unlock each weapon, it made sense.

Honestly, after watching WoodenPotatoes GW2 4 years back vid, I was so hoping they’d put some lore in the game. It is still a gaping hole for new players – you might have made it a bit easier to learn the game, but the lore and personal story just as confusing and lacking as ever. A new player will be as clueless lore wise as they are now by the time they reach 80.

So very very very disappointed and sad. Love this game, not saying I’m still not hoping for great things – but very disappointed with this announcement, and sad, that’s all. Waited for it for a week, heh.
