After update, my necromancer run slightly different then before. It looks like an Sylvari animation now… They’ve changed animations on this update? Maybe it is small thing, but when you play female human most time, you can see difference. Look at your character- She wasn’t smile while run before, and other things

Aww son of kitten. You better be joking. As if the change to the female animation months back wasn’t bad enough and noticeable different.

I was actually going to suggest that they replace the Human female running animation with the Sylvari one.
In the betas, everything was dandy with the Human female. Then somewhere early on, they developed a massive side-to-side lurch that made them look like a windshield wiper. It never got much better, and has often been jerky. The Sylvari animation has always seemed fluid and natural.
EDIT: Nope… that’s not the Sylvari animation. It still rocks back and forth, while there is virtually none of that in the Sylvari female. It doesn’t look as bad as it has at other times, though.
If they CAN map the Human female onto the Sylvari running animation, I say DO IT!

You probably can’t see with my bad graphics but the arm extends more. (The red and white is a before pic and red and black is after.) I’ve asked people about this in game and they have noticed it as well (only an arm problem).
GG I hope they don’t ever thing of changing the female Norn, I’ll quit the game in a heartbeat if they did. They should use the Norn one for the human too, imho. That side to side lurching on the human run cycle is a bit much to me too. For the Sylvari, wow, I really can’t say express how I can’t tolerate it.

lol that’s too funny, I love the female Sylvari run animation and really hate female Norn.
I don’t know if u guys notice this but last time I played my male ele sylvari, he runs like a female I stop playing because of that.
I can’t really tell if there was a change or not, but I haven’t played my humans in ages. It certainly does seeeeeem a bit different though but that may be confirmation bias after having read this.
Not a big fan of the change, looks a bit more unnatural than the previous one. Still, it’s not that noticeable.

There is a small change but now it looks more like it did before they changed it months ago.
Personally I am glad because the strange stiff arms and the little bounce/hop really put me off.
Looks much more normal now
The new human running animation looks nothing like female Sylvari btw- my Sylavri’s run like a cross between Forest Gump and a kid with ADD ( I think it is adorable)

Edit: now I am just confused my Sylvari’s don’t look quite as flaily as they used to- I might be over thinking it but it looks like they have control over their arms now- it is like the animations were made more general

You scared me for a sec, since the sylvari female run animation is really, really horrible; their arms whip back and forth so fast they look like they’re teleporting. Thankfully I can’t really notice much of a change to the human female animation, and it certainly hasn’t been made into the awful Sylvari one.

I agree! The smoothness of how my Sylvari moves was the FIRST thing I noticed when I started playing her. I don’t know why, but it really adds to general gameplay.
I can pick apart the female Sylvari’s biomechanical flaws. Instead, it brings up what I usually ask for in this game, freedom of choice. Wouldn’t it be great if we had options to choose the run cycle for our characters? Maybe that’s something we should ask to be implemented?
I actually think they slightly changed Norn males as well, an update or two ago. Probably been noticed and talked about already, but I noticed a slight difference with how high my weapons seemed to be rising when he runs and just assumed I was going mad.
Probably am still going mad…
Dear ArenaNet, I don’t know what you did but once again you screw it.
There is definitely something wrong with the shoulders. My poor little necros were perfect and now they are bound to run for the world with their dislocated shoulders Q_Q
As someone who really care for the appearance of their character, this is really annoying. Again, I don’t know what you did but please, fix it.
The running animation of the male norn, the female humans and the female sylvari have been changed by now.
I have to admit, that I did not noticed the change on the norn, although I have an eye for such things. I only remember, that — in the old version — while running with weapons drawn, the arms were not moving so much, and the normal one look like they were jogging.
The female sylvari have been changed a bit, too. She swings her arms less much and her leg don’t kick out so much now (so everyone behind cannot see under her skirt anymore^^). But — thank goodness — it’s still not the same as the human one. It just looks like a … slowed down version of the old one.
The female humans have been changed the most, but it still is a slightly change. She now hops less while running. You can still see the “old” animation, if a staff or single-hand weapon is drawn, though it is not exactly the same, but close enough. Anyhow it doesn’t look that bad.
I just have one plea: Never ever change the difference between the races and genders itself! The sylvari — for instance — use the same animations as the humans do and only the running animation is different.

On closer examination of my human thief’s tight pants, her hips are now moving way to much. It’s like a high speed sashay now
