New Guild Location Server Tag: [D]?

After I loaded the new patch, I began noticing that some players in my guild whose Location is displayed as another server now have a [D] next to that server name.

It’s not showing up like that for all servers, only a few specific ones. I have observed Anvil Rock, Borlis Pass and Kaineng all with the [D] designation.

Does anyone else know anything about this? As far as I can recall, these [D]s weren’t there before.

perhaps to distinguish guesting players from ones based on another server?

i guess the [D] stands for Dungeon, so the corresponding person is in a dungeon with a player from the other server

Definitely not this. I guested and there was no [D] reported. Current conjecture in guild chat is that it might be related to how WvW is deployed- each tier has its own hosting server name (or something) that’s a separate entity from the worlds, but some of them have identical names. Adding the [D] separated the WvW server with the world name, though why they chose [D] I have no idea.

Right now, for T8 the location is visible as “Jade Quarry [D]” when viewed by someone that’s in another bracket. Someone on the same home world would see it as the usual white “World vs. World”. T2’s location is “Borlis Pass [D]”, and so on.
