Thank you for these changes!
I am well aware that a lot of the hatred these last so many weeks is from players that have been around two years.
I too, am two years into this game, but GW2 was my first ever PC game.
I’ll be glad for these changes, even the changing what level you start getting your skills (the trait thing was a bit crazy to get used to though) and weapon swapping. I feel this will help create weapon diversity instead of just sticking to just one weapon for me (esp on classes not previously played). It will also help learn your actual attacks and how the benefit a lot better.
One thing I also think may players don’t think about is just how difficult learning about ASDW .. QE.. Space.. V… 1-0 can be for someone who’s NEVER used a keyboard for such functions. I use a keyboard for work and I use a keyboard daily when not at work. Starting out for me was so difficult I nearly quit many times (mostly Vistas). I was too stressed about just moving to learn about how to play my character. I stayed in Caledon Forest for 50 Levels cause I was STILL learning.
I know everyone has different learning curves. (I now have 10 alts and most are lvl 80 and I know I didn’t get them there from actually knowing my class.)
I feel this new system will help those (that were most likely used to test the system) like me that are new to MMO and PC Gaming. To us that now are used to the older (while new) system, it may not be easy, but it does present new challenges that I feel old players should take on a bit more willingly. Because those new players might be the ones healing you, giving you boons, taking your conditions… Maybe even be in your guild, getting those missions done. They might be why your PvP team gets some serious points in the future.
I plan on staying. As a fan of the game, I respect when they make changes. I also respect when things don’t go right. I don’t love absolutely everything they do and release, but the things I do like outweigh the dislikes by far.
If these Feature Packs cause you to not stay, I’m sorry you feel that way.
(Also, thanks for new TP, Mini and Commander changes, Anet!)
