I want my mini golden pig to do a happy dance when I loot coins, cry when I spend them and get larger and fatter depending on how much gold I have in my bank. Sadly, my piglet would most likely appear be a sickly shriveled up golden raisin.
(This would actually go with my mesmer’s classic hobo style.)
Perhaps make the Golden achievement the cap. The piglet could even glow/shine or sparkle with over 200 gold.
As for a completely new, never before seen pet: A fish out of water! It would flip-flop around and follow me wherever I go (blowing bubbles and making squishing noises) and actually swims, if a bit erratically, whenever I’m swimming.
Re Edit: Also another new mini pet I’d like to see. An honest to Dwayna mini parrot, not just a tropical bird. Or parrots in multiple color schemes. Make them a set! Have them say “piratey” things, or sing pirate song snippets in a parrot voice.
Re re Edit: @Blair — Chests that follow you around in a game would most likely be Mimics. These are classic dungeon monsters that look like chests which entice greedy adventurers close enough to be eaten or attacked. Would be funny if someone "F"ed your pet Mimic and had it freak out on them or chew on and spit out that person’s own mini pet. Asura could most likely create golem versions of Mimics. Perfect for the disposal of “defective” test subjects.
