New Player's views on the game
I’m leveling my thief right now and yeah there are places that the second time around made me go “Woah, that’s beautiful stuff.”
I still can’t get over how realistic the water environment is, especially the droplets that cling onto your monitor screen after you get out of the water.
lol hi there glad you enjoy it.
1. Don’t pay attention to forums on any mmo is the general rule and alot of the negativity thats sprouting currently is being produced from the upcoming update. Nerfs etc. you know the deal :I
2. Reasons anyone should love this game
3. I am also a fan of the graphic setting but what blows my mind is the detail implemented in the environments. Whether its in a town or desert. There are so many nooks and crannies to explore and sights to see. I don’t RP but if I did I would believe I have hit jackpot. (Dont forget those jumping puzzles ;D)
4. Content like the adventure box is what makes me love this game even more. Honestly how many mmos can you count go that extra mile to deliver something totally independent and entertaining of itself. Although people complain about “endgame” they seem to forget that the experiences that they have had in this game cannot be compared to anything else they’ve experience in an mmo.
5. Don’t we all.
6. In terms of pvp combat i am a huge fan of how fast paced some of the fights can be. Sure there are imbalances here and there as well as some classes that need more diversity but in due time (hopefully). Another thing i love is that there is alot of room for skill and I find it funny how 2 dodges can completely change the outcome of a fight. Nothing is 100%.
7. Asura > Everything plain and simple…no debate…hmmm..you said human? WRONG!!
So yeah call me a fanboy or whatever just showing some positivity is all
“5. I like there are no kill 10 boar quests”
actually these type of quest are still in that game, but designed in such a way that we do not feel like it is a chore to do them.
well, for me, that is.
for example,
some bears terrorizes some place.
kill enough bears until they retreat.
etc
I guess it’s kinda like that, but when you kill the bears they actually stop attacking, or if you ignore it there are consequences
Yay, another postive post. We need more of them!
The game was fantastic until about a month or two after you hit 80. Then the only real things left to do is repeat the same dungeons or farm until you go mad in PvE, play that horrible zergfest joke for a PvP WvWvW, or play sPvP which is so fundamentally broken there is no point in playing certain classes. WoW hit the same kinds of dead ends IMO. GW1 handled content way better.

Keep in mind opinions differ and I myself love WvWvW and the strategy involved in it. It goes beyond the scope of any game’s PvP I have played since DAoC or Shadowbane. That being said, yea sPvP needs some work, and I feel like there is enough PvE content to keep the average player busy for quite a while.
Glad you are enjoying the game!
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
I really wish most would write their threads like this. I can get to the points and “see” all of the points and not be bombarded by anti GW crap.
I can say that I agree with a lot, but not say they are game breaking (which I believe you are not doing either).
Hope you stay around a bit more…at least until the next brain waster comes out
:)
IronPlushy, I love your name, and I like what you wrote here and agree completely with it. I’ve felt a little sour toward different things with GW2 not being addressed, but they haven’t stopped my enjoying the game, though they have hindered it off and on for a little while.
Thank you for your happy post.
Your server has benefited by your being on it.

GUILD WARS 2 IS DYING!!!!
Haven’t we heard that since early september?? Hehe… Good job Anet. As a Gw1 vet, I have high faith in you and am looking forward for more. So confident in believing that i’ll be playing this game for years to come (due to possible future expansion, cross fingers cantha), that I bought molten pick axe for my characters. No more worries about running out of picks now when running on my main >=)

My first character was a thief. On launch day I spent it and the next 2 days walking (literally walking) around Divinity’s Reach admiring the architecture and the atmosphere. It was gorgeous. And on the third day I went ‘outside’
Such a beautiful game.
