Hello everyone :-D! I’m a new player and I just finished my download. My question before I begin is what are the server personalities? I mean what are the bot servers, the pvp/pve servers, servers with kitten, servers dominated by one guild/clan/ally whatever they are called in this game lol? Any feedback positive or negative would be appreciated. Thx

JQ is king PVE/PVP. Has been and always will PRX is a good WvW guild on the server here (No im not in it)

sPvP rankings are a bit harder to get, but PvP is cross server, so that’s a bit less useful information to begin with.

Tarnished Coast is the unofficial RP server.

I’m on Yak’s bend, which is sort of above average of the road in all aspects. We’re a bit better than others in WvW/PvP, but our population dips during the late night session (tiny Oceanic population). Other servers have more of a 24/7 activity to them.

Just know that you’re allowed to guest to 2 other servers with in a 24 period (and pick two different ones the next day). You can also transfer your account for free if you delete all your characters before attempting the transfer.

Your best bet is to join your friends, if any are playing. Every community, in my experience, is good, and every community has its bad apples.

No server is “dominated” by one guild, this game doesn’t support that. You can be in 4 different guilds at once too, so you can experience both bigger and smaller guilds (which each server has plenty of both).

Besides being with your friends though, if you plan on WvWing, that would be your second most important decision. If you want large numbers of players- you want tier 4 or above. Tier 1, however, is very likely to lag your game a TON, as tier 2 likely does as well, so keep that in mind.

Other than that, there really aren’t huge differences between each server. There’s some unofficial things, like Tarnished Coast is the unofficial roleplaying server, but you can find likeminded, friendly people on every server.
