I heard some rumors that the ranger could be potentially getting a new elite, and a signet one, so i got an idea

the ranger is the only class which has the camouflage, that is being invisible while standing still

so the new signet would be an offensive one, so it will passively give either 10% crit dmg or precision AND the active effect would be perma camouflage to you and your pet (that is ofc unless you move or attack), giving a chance for a stealthy attack

i was glad that the ranger was voted to be reworked, because i love this class and i’l love to see it shine

I don’t think its a good idea, not because of any fundamental issues with it, but because marksmen traits are an overcrowded mess as is.

Camo is pretty useless, unless you take remorseless (GM mm traits) in which it becomes decent. However, tohave a signet active effect yourself as a ranger, you also need Signets of the Beastmaster or whatever its called (another GM mm trait). Therefore this skill would never be fully functional. If the camo was the passive, say gain camo when not moving or performing an action for x seconds, then this might actually see some use, depending on the x.

There is no elite confirmed, it was a rumor and Anet said it is fake.
About the idea, depending in the time you get perma camouflage, it is actually a cool elite idea.
I can see in WvW a “wall” of rangers with camouflage waiting a zerg to ambush and suddenly “rangers, rangers everywhere”

EDIT: I believe the camo would be the active effect, and yeah, I forgot that our signets doesn’t work on us by default.
