There are categories for reporting spammers, people who curse at you or insult you, people who try to scam you, etc…

But what about the SILENT kittenbags? The people who do horrible stuff that doesn’t involve verbal abuse, or even saying anything? People who use someone to help carry them through a dungeon and then kick them out at the last boss to invite friends, people who troll JPs with AOE swiftness to intentionally kill you, etc.

I’ve seen the whole “stuff will be decided based on chat logs, not unsubstantiated reports” disclaimer, and I understand the reasoning behind it. I certainly wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of some kind of disciplinary action because one person said I did something and had no proof. But at the same time, it seems crappy for the policy to be that we throw up our hands and accept there’s nothing we can do.

One person’s testimony may not mean much, but what if a pattern was established? If reports were received about a player’s quiet but bad behavior from enough people, over time, might that not lend some weight to the accusations? The odds of dozens of people, or however many reports it would take to get someone noticed, all making it up are rather slim.

Yea and duchebags could use that system to by getting their 300 person guild to report someone, no just deal with the accidental death in jp…. block and dont run with kickers again in the dungeons

The two examples you mentioned:

-Kicking before a dungeon ends for no reason is an offence. It counts as griefing and can be best reported under LFG system abuse.

-The aoe swiftness on a JP thing is a little more tricky. Sometimes people use swiftness out of habit/by accident and you just happen to be in the area. However, a distinction can be made if somebody is camping for a reasonable length of time and repeatedly doing it. I think reporting them for verbal abuse or botting is the best method of report in-game, but contacting support with a detailed description and screenshots is the best bet all-round.

If somebody was doing that to me, I’d probably politely contact them and tell them to stop so people could complete the JP. If they refuse or abuse, report them for verbal abuse and the chat-log will be inspected. Hopefully, if the chat-log is something like this it would be obvious what the troll’s behaviour is:

You: “Hey, would you mind not repeatedly using AOE swiftness on the JP? It’s making it difficult for me and others to complete it”
Troll: “Ahahaaha.. no”

Oh, also, usually saying this stuff in map-chat whilst naming the troll works quite well.

It makes me wonder how that infamous Rata Sum maize-balm troller got attention from the mods right then and there. Was it because enough people were reporting him in a short time-frame, or was it because somebody in the area happened to know a moderator’s IGN?
