Hey all,

i created this thread to get some Ideas for new Runes or redesign actual runes to make them more viable. Post your Ideas and give constructive Feedback pls. Have fun all.

I would love to see this new Rune with HoT or maybe earlier:

Rune of Extinction
(1) +25 Power
(2) +3% Condition-Duration
(3) +50 Power
(4) +7% Condition-Duration
(5) +100 Power
(6) +10% Condition-Duration, +100 Condition-Damage

Otherwise it would be very nice to add an +20% Bleed Duration to the “Rune of the Elementalist” XD.

Sigil of Momentum exists already. That stacks Toughness.

I would rather that they change some of the existing runes to make them useful. Like Rune of the Thief and Rune of the Engineer that give a nice damage modifier as 6th bonus, but give condition stats, which make no sense since damage modifier don’t apply to condition.

I like Rune of the Thief as it ist. I use it for hybrid build and it fits really great. Don’t wish any redesign for this. But there are many runes, that need some love i’d say.

I would like that they first improve more of the existing Runes to become more or in general at all useful.

Runes also should be more about EFFECTS and not about STATS.
If you want STATS, then you should use GEMSTONES, which should get their Stats boosted so that they become more equal to Runes, which are with their Effects currently superior over Gemstones.

I’d love for example, if ANet would make the Rune of Life actually a real Rune Set like all others, in its current from its just a waste of ressources and makes no sense, that some useless crap like that exists in the game at all

Thats what I’’d like to see this Rune to become:

Rune of Life

1) Self Heals are increased by 3/7/10%
2) Gain Regeneration on Dodges Rolls for 3 seconds (CD 10/7/5s)
3) Heals 1 Condition every 20/15/10 seconds for every Signet Skill in your Build
4) Increases Endurance Regeneration by 10/15/25%
5) Increases Maximum Health by 5/10/15%
6) You lose 10/15/20% slower Health when downed, making it easier for you to recover quicker.

No Stat Boosts, just 6 Effects that deal with “Life” in form of increasing the Max Health and effects that help with Heals and Condition Cleanses as also the Character’s Stamina.

The same way should get all other runes improved, remove the Stats, add in Effects.
Add all the removed Stats to Gemstones as significant boosts, so that players have to decide over it, if they prefer to rather have helpful effects in combat, or if they prefer to have raw superior stats over someone else to get that way significant more Power, Toughness, Precision ect. than someone else.

And then add in a new 3rd type of Upgrades, thats a hybrid between Runes and Gemstones and works then like the current Runes – “Ether Crystals”

Ether Crystals would be special Gemstones into which has been put the magical essence, the Ether of a Rune Stone, that crystalized then around the Rune Stone.
They glow and emit light from itself to to their magical nature.

Then would have GW2 finally 3 distict different Upgrade Types

Runes = 100% full Effects only
Ether Crystals = 50% Effects 50% Stats
Gemstones = 100% Stat Boosts
