Also your forms act as your secondary weapon since you wouldn’t have a secondary weapon unlike Necromancers.

Oh, there’s a flaw.

So is this bloodstone mechanic taking into account that it’d have the most unique skills available at once? Currently, the highest ranking profession in this currently is elemental with 4 unique sets of skills (fire, air, water and earth) while your profession will have the base weapon skills + 4 sets of skills for each form? I’m guessing you did take that into consideration but I can’t tell since not much about the forms is explained.

I was vague on what you can transform into because I leave that for artist imagination on the dark monsters models that could be used. But sure, I can show some ideas for some.

I think you can still give an idea of the forms (you don’t have to write a backstory/bestiary for every demon form) and what you’d imagine they do. Consider Elementalist, their sets of skills tend to be of a specific range per weapon which is a limiting factor to help balance them. You can describe such a feature without listing out every skill of a weapon.

ok but like I said, I rather the GW2 team’s artisit design demon models with cool looks. I am better at creating skills/spells than drawing and designing models and creating names for creatures..So I will give it a shot

Forms:

1) DemonLord-
http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs45/f/2009/156/d/f/Balor_Demon_by_BenWootten.jpg
Demonlord is a Reaper form that deals with melee range combat and uses Whip skills for control and AoE Damage.

2)Shadow Horror-
http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs35/f/2008/289/b/0/Shadow_Demon_by_BenWootten.jpg
Deals with Stealth combat, movement

3)Chaos-
http://mxyzplk.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/pzo9239-venedaemon.jpg
This forum deals with Close Range grapples, mid range magic assault and support.

4)Imp-
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/8/88/Ice_Imp.jpg/800px-Ice_Imp.jpg
Ranged caster

5)Doomguard-
http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs5/i/2004/272/0/2/Pit_Lord_by_Nikoro.jpg
Defensive form with strong control abilities.

Thats just a few. the other form Ideas are more thought out. But need skills details to understand their concept.

That’s actually exactly what I was asking you to do, describe skills/spells and effects. :P

As I’m tiring of this topic, I’ll just respond to:

Curious, where do “demons” fit in the grande scheme of Tyria?

In lore, demons are direct creations of the Mists, often imperfect copies of other pre-existing creatures. They’re anarchistic by nature, and hate mortal world inhabitants.

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Margonite_Reaper
No learn your lore. They were demons in Gw1 and functioned as equivalents of the Dervish playable class.
Reapers were Dark themed Dervish. Greth’s reapers were Necromancers ghost. Which is why I said my idea for Reaper class deals with both Demonic and Undead in transformation.
As to your other statement about transforming into Undead, I am sorry but Necromancers also can change into creatures of undeath. So I don’t see how that is a reach lore wise for a living to turn into an avatar of undead.

The Reapers were the avatars of Grenth.

Margonite Reapers were completely different thing. And were just an arbitrary name for a dervish Margonite and they’re not unique in lore AT ALL.

So yeah, you need to learn your lore, or at the very least be clear in what you say and not think that one tiny insignificant name is an actual piece of lore.

All you linked to is a human-turned-demon-permanently that is named reaper.

Might as well call them Executioner and hey, you have the same argument of tied to demons and undead etc.

By the way, the Margonite humans background lore are the model for the demonic theme of the the Reaper class in the OP. Abaddon was able to transform those humans into Demons to use his power. That’s the theme of the Shapeshifting element of Reapers.

Yes, A GOD PERMANENTLY transformed a group of humans into ethereal demons.

This is not something a human can do.

This is not something that’s reversable.

This made Margonites sterile.

This makes zero sense from a lore standpoint. But it’s obvious that you’re among the group that give the middle finger to lore for the rule of cool.

The Bloodstones are sources of great power but they were shattered and scattered across the world. Abaddon is locked away, and it’s not a reach for Abaddon to exchange powers of Bloodstones to mortals, since he did it once before, before he was locked away by the other gods.

No, Abaddon is dead.

He can’t do anything.

I had Rytlock lead that cause since he is a powerful warrior that was lost in the Mist which is where he could come Into contact with Greth and Abaddon which are connected to the land of the Crystal Desert.

Nope. 1) Abaddon is dead. 2) They’re not tied to the Crystal Desert, and in all honesty, despite people’s outcry, neither is anything we’ve seen beyond three runes. 3) The gods are not in the Mists – we were told this by Priestess Rhie during The Cathedral of Silence.

Nothing I said was a reach Lorewise. If it was, I asked that you explain. Nothing here you said make my lore a far reach to happen.

More like everything, per above.

I am better at creating skills/spells than drawing and designing models and creating names for creatures.

Maybe for Blizzard games.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

No matter how much you modify this it is still a core necromancer with melee and will always be. We need new concepts not reworks of current.

That way too many weapons for a class that cant switch weapons in-combat. Look at the other 2 classes that cant switch in combat eng and ele both of them have very few chose of what weapons they can use so you need to cut down on the number of weapons this class can use.

Main : Jski Imaginary ELE (Necromancer)
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)

Yup, this is also a balancing point (at least for Elementalist).

With your Reaper Class, if two of the transformations depend on the weapon choice, those transformations have 5 unique skills each and the class has 6 main-hand weapons, that’s a total of 2 × 5 × 6 + 3 (two-hand weapons) x 5 + 3 (main-hand weapons) x 3 = 84 skills (not including the base transformation or even off-hand weapons’ skills).

For Elementalist, they have 80 total with off-hand and they also don’t have many chain skills because they aren’t standard melee so the rough number of actual individual skills is around that number. But your Reaper is melee and likely to have chain auto attacks so the number goes up. That’s a lot of flexibility.

Basically, with the discussed re-evaluation, I’d suggest you altering the profession mechanic some, shaving off 1 base-transformation and 1 weapon-transformation, leaving the Reaper with:
F1 [base transformation]
F2 [weapon transformation]
F3 & F4 [something else or nothing]

From there, you might be able to rebalance the ‘bloodstone’ build-up mechanic to facilitate that change and perhaps change one of the utilities to “Transformations” that give access to a few more choice transformations that perhaps interact differently with the ‘bloodstones’ (like building them up instead of spending them).

Personally, I don’t like the Hexes but the name isn’t bad. If I were messing all the utilities up, I’d set it up like:
Shouts = Instead of Haunt. Haunt can be one of the Shouts
Transformation (or call it some other flavorful name) = Instead of Zealot Weapon. Serves the same function.
Demon Fang = close ranged attacks that can even be used while Transformed
Hexes = Instead of Ritual. Bind demons to targets or locations to create different effects

For the last one, it could be something. Either something unique or rarely used. I’m kind of enamored with the idea of Mantras since I don’t mind them on my Mesmer. Give Reaper a type of Mantra whose charges have a base effect on itself or the target but additional effects when you have boons/the target has conditions and the charge will remove boons/conditions in recompense.

Nah its a lot alike. They both call upon souls of undead and demons to make use of their skills, aka a transformation in GW2 terms.

Both heavy armor. Rytlock as the example in both. Lol. I predicted it well

Undead and demons =/= people of legends.

Multiple people with class ideas are trying to claim it as their own ideas, but really it’s just influenced by the ritualist class from GW1.

ZOMG! Anet totally steal my idea!

The new class is death knight Revenant.
If you didn’t realize Rytlock jumps into the whole on the ground. I’m sorry to tell you, but Rytlock died.
Fortunately he come back to life and become a death knightRevenant. The next living story serves as an introduction to the new class.

I am not taking credit, but my prediction based on the limited info I had at the time was very close. I knew it was going to be Dervish themed heavy armor class. I knew it would have transformations and that Rytlock would be the symbol for the new class. I was pretty close even in some of the lore. It’s a hero from the Mist like I predicted.

He was lost into the mist which is where undead god and the demon god resides. Plus with his armor it gave away a lot, as well as the trailers and living story that came out a few weeks ago pretty much gave it all away that it was a new class based on a darker dervish theme but for heavy armor.

I built my class idea off those basic parts and came up with something very similar to the Revenant. My prediction was spot on. I don’t want a treat or anything, just want to acknowledge what people that didn’t like my class idea, think of the new class that Anet revealed. Do you dislike this new class as well?

Not similar at all. They share heavy armor, and a connection to the mists, but that’s about it. (oh, and spears too.)

But, all we know is what was announced and like 50 words about the class. Maybe it will be more similar when we know more, but for now……nope.

I think it’s a bit too similar to necromancer. And a bunch of necromancer’s traits have reaper in it.

Maybe the necromancer specialists will have similar mechanics.

I can’t be sure yet myself honestly until I know more. The most basic summary of what I know is “Use power of ancient heroes”. How can I possibly go off of that and make an opinion?

(also, More than a year ago, I threw out a profession idea for a class that built up life energy of some kind, then summoned/used the power of spirits from the mists. Hey, look! I was spot on too! /sarcasm….but, no ,really)

Eh, it’s not like there can’t be some overlap. Guardians and Warriors already have a ton of similar mechanics, so there’s no reason necros can’t share some of their neat stuff.
