New Survival Traits -> Zerker Dominance
Very few thieves will bother with the trait for pve the damage from either hidden or exec is just too much to lose.
Necro has a whole bunch of siphon traits that are essentially worthless during shrouds so about time.
Warrior is most likely in the same boat as thief.
Ideally the other traits that havent been shown will go along the lines of more damage from tanky trait lines and more survival from dps lines enabling more builds.
Not sure but since Axe was previously nerfed on warrior, the DPS buff will just make it either equal to its old damage, or possibly make it stronger, however if its a grandmaster trait in stength, youd have to give up berzerkers power and no one would do that
Ranger didn’t get a lot of love, but they got some fixes at least.
The title is my impression from the new traits revealed during the Ready Up 8.
A lot of newer traits focus heavily on “survivability”, and with survivability being next to non-existent problem in PvE, this basically feels like “everyone go buy berseker’s and then make your build with traits”. Examples:
- mesmer’s “3 seconds of distortion upon killing an enemy, no cooldown”
- thief’s healing from attacks
- necromancer’s healing in death shroud
- ele’s anti-crit earth trait
- engi’s booned turrets and mines-on-hit
- guardian’s +3k HP trait
- warrior, on the other hand, gets more DPS buffs which combined with innate survivability lead to faster bursts
What’s your impression?
Wouldn’t that wonderful? You wouldn’t have to worry about meta changes or buying/crafting wrong equipment. Balance change? Just retrait which will be now even easier.
I don’t think that people will go berserker with defensive traits. I think people will just continue to go berserker with offensive traits, lol.
Some of the new traits look interesting to some extent, but I doubt they will shake things up much since they all still require a 30 point investment and need to be better than existing traits to have a chance.
Why they decided to add more grandmaster traits instead of just adding more utility skills or elite skills, I have no idea.
