There’s already a thread for whether you like/dislike the new Teq. This thread is to discuss winning strategies so please keep like/dislike discussions to the other thread.

After several attempts the difference between winning and failing seems pretty clear. Besides the usual defense…

1. Everyone in the zerg stack under Teqs head (crit spot) and melee.
2. Revive downed and wp if dead.

Voila. That’s it. No more ranged attacks, no more dodging, no nothing. Just stand in one spot. Just like how it’s done in dungeon stack spots.

We had a very tight stack in a TTS map and finished with nearly 7 minutes left. If everyone in the map knows to do this, you’ll win. If not, you’ll lose. So spread the word.

That has always been the organized teq strategy. And if you’re in the DD spot and you did not have to dodge or pop stability, then that probably means you’re with an organized guild group that carries Tequatl. For the organized Tequatl runs, nothing really changed. It’s just not as puggable as it was.

No, people could choose to be ranged and we’d still win. That is no longer viable. That’s the difference.

This is a “new” strategy? Did I time travel?

That has always been the organized teq strategy. Though, its still important to dodge.

And no, in my TTS map there was no dodging either. Just stand still.

Finished yesterday at reset with over 6 min left. The only difference in strategy being that the group ganged up at the crit spot. Someone always said “crit here” or a version of that in all chat – if you have the pop up balloon option on you’ll easily see where to stand. Cleave hits both new crit spot and old foot spot.

In short, hit the crit spot. Same performance as usual. Nothing different.

EDIT: People still ranged on the first stage. I suppose it helps to stand on the crit spot in that stage too.

The difference is that in the previous map the zerg had options. There was a lot of ranged attacks and dodging. The difference is that the option to range and dodge is gone.

Do not dodge. Simply stand still at all cost. That is very different than what used to happen.

Did it yesterday, no crit spot strategy, the usual ranged/dodge, and AoE on its feet. Finished with 1min or so left. No problem. ^^

So stand in one spot and hit the 1 key. Got it.

Yes that’s sarcasm. Yesterday the proponents of the new “Teq” stated that the “old was was an afk fest”. Seems like nothing has changed after all, and in fact is even more of an afk fest.

I completed it with about 6 minutes left last night. It looked like about roughtly half was meleeing and the other half were ranging. It certainly doesn’t require everyone in that spot. And if we’re still sticking with the assumption that the crit spot not being at every spot is a bug, then all those people under the belly is only temporary.

Lol you didn’t do jack squat… or have any magic “strategy” you had a group with more than 10 guardians so you won.

I can only assume taking advantage of the guardian symbolic avenger bug is considered an exploit. Worth banning people for using it? I don’t know. At least they’re not making profit with it I guess.

I’m an elementalist, so I attack ranged. Also not enough hitpoints to stand on the crit spot and survive. You cannot expect that players who play ranged just change this…

You have as much health as my guardian who stands in melee. Expect to dodge and to use reflects. Guardians, mesmers, eles, thieves, anybody with reflects needs to spam them. With that said I do agree that the fact that they are forcing everybody to stand in melee and cleave to crit is kind of silly.

Anet loves when everyone stack and dps. Why do you think people doing that in dungs? As we can see AN even promotes such behavior and group “tactic”.

See ya guys on challenge stack group contest in HoT!!!
