Actually, you do see a part of a weapon. The bow’s string to be exact. And you see it while it’s on your back, so it just blocks your view(human thief, max height, had camera scale to height).
The aesthetics are a matter of taste.
It is written in the options that the new camera stuff is “BETA”. It’s even in all caps for the visually handicapped to catch on.

I agree, the update is crappy, but since you are thinking about quitting.

I don’t think they ever intended first person view to be used for combat. It was more for screenshot taking/admiring the view, etc. If you saw your weapon in first person view, it would probably annoy a lot more people than those who want it.

Of all the things to complain about in this update, you probably picked the most trivial things. GG.

1st Person view was meant to be like this, just a view. It wasn’t supposed to turn GW2 into Skyrim.
The Shadow weapons are a matter of taste. I like them, you don’t. That’s how the world goes. Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.

Guild chat is a bug that has a temporary fix. It will be fixed. Chill and give it a day or less.

It’s ok, it’s just a game, and it’s patch day.

I’m so tired of posts like this.

First of all, the first person point of view is exactly what it’s supposed to be. It’s the same as the first person point of view from Guild Wars 1. Anet never claimed to be making a first person point of view like other games. They simply said you can zoom the camera all the way in. Your own expectations are at fault here, because this is what many, if not most of us were expecting.

There are people who really like the shadow weapons, tha’ts a matter of personal taste. Your opinion doesn’t trump anyone elses.

There are bugs when patches happen at every patch. Updates happen pretty fast. If you don’t like patch day bugs, don’t log in on patch day. It happens in every MMO.

First person is NOT for combat. It’s mainly for screenshots and seeing world for what it is. People wanted to get rid of character in the middle so they can see things and take nice screenshots… now that they got it, I don’t think they want to see weapons getting in the way.
