Hello. First of all, so sorry for english, but i hop you will get what i am talking about .
As far as i remember, we got info, that we will be able to finish this achievement aswell as “Spiritual Drinker” one during whole 2016 year. So i bought like 1.5k+ candy canes and were using em only were i was running events (to get karma profit). Right now i am at 2.439/2.500 with a few thousands of candy canes in my inventory, but when i am using em – they do not count into achievement progress.
Are you seriuos with that?

edt. Would be great to see red post with smthn like “you literally wasted like 30-40g and time spent on candy cane farm”.

Save them for next year I guess, maybe it’ll return since mass devouring thousands of items achievements seem to be whats hip and trendy now for GW2.

Its not even about achievement, its about gold and time wasted for title you didnt even get.

They said it was only the drinker for the shoulders collection achievement. Im sorry to say, you assumed it was for candy canes also when that was not said anywhere so it is your error.

I ended up using 30 on a few alts to finish without wasting them (or at least feel like I wasnt wasting them)

That’s pretty misleading when they said it’ll be open all year. Obviously people were complaining about BOTH drinks and candy canes. This really needs to be changed.

Here is what the Devs posted awhile back:

Will the candy cane achievement be given similar treatment to Festive Imbiber? It’s not required for the shoulders, but it’s still one that is on a similar progression scale as Festive Imbiber.
Candy cane achievement will not stay available. It is not needed for anything else (except the meta). Progress will be saved and will be able to be finished next Wintersday.

No. I don’t see many people complain about sweet tooth.It’s only for title and ap. It’s not need for main meta too(just optional).

It’s pretty cheap to complete in wintersday . Nowhere in the forum that dev stated they gonna leave sweet tooth open. No reason to leave it open throughout the year like drinks.
