How do you guys think Anet could improve dungeons and what new types of challenges do you think dungeons should have. Personally most dungeons feel the same, you go in, attack mobs, beat a boss (aka stack) and you’re done. Id like to see real challenges. Things no other MMO with dungeons have ever thought of.

But a dungeon should be challenging within the context of battle mechanics and not cheapo environmental factors like heated floors you can get stomped off of. They’re only “easy” because people acclimate to them and become part of our muscle memory. A good dungeon would involve randomly generated maps with reasonable power levels and AI. So an AI may wait for a charged attack before using an interrupt skill or knockdown, the solution to which would be autoattacking them to death so it doesn’t trigger.

They’ve said in their blog posts about the upcoming Fractals changes that Fractals are going to “remain” their 5 man instanced content. No mention whatsoever of dungeons.

Fractals are the dungeons for end game, also raids being 10 man dungeons
