So I was formulating ideas, and came up with what I think would be a balanced Mesmer/Thief mix. I’m new on the forums, and I had no clue where I could put suggestions or ideas, btw.

Armor class; Light
Provides balance for the high damage and mobility of the class, trading defense in exchange for damage

Weapons
Land
Sword (main/offhand), Dagger(main/offhand), Staff, scepter (main), focus (offhand)
Water
Spear and trident

Attacks would consist of a high amount of leaps, shadowstepping, or ranged based attacks. Most spells, unlike thief, have cooldowns and casting times, however, to provent an unhittable target. Like the mesmer, this class uses many spell based attacks, but focusses on melee for the left 5 spells, unless using staff/scepter/focus. Spells would consist of mirages, which are mainly utilities, such as mirages that stay in place, and ping thetheir location on death, to explosive creeper-like mirages. Not the typical attacking mirages mesmer has. Other spells would have things such ranging from signets to movement spells such as shadowstepping and speed buffs. The class would be based around a combo system; as spells hit, you gain a point for your combo, which passively increase attack, or can be used in some spells to increase power (like finishes; 1 combo = 100dmg, 5 combos = 200dmg, etc)

Advantages: high mobility and attack, and hard to hit. Based around a combo system which increases attack as the fight progresses. Very fast paced in combat

Disadvantages: easy to kill once caught, most spells and skills have cooldowns and cast times, combos are easily lost to spells being cast, and over all very squishy. The fast paced combat may be too much for beginners.

I haven’t thought of a name for the class, or any particular skills and spells and such, just an overall idea. Tell me what you think, and how it could be improved/merged/buffed!

I think whatever they add needs to be elite specs (cannot be combined). For example ninjas duel wield swords like warriors and warriors are lacking in stealth so I think ninja would be a great elite for the warrior, it would basically be daredevil without the staff, warrior weaponset and base class. It will have stealth and extra dodge. Thief lacks healing so monk (like druid but has bare fist which for monk would be like having two ascended zealot weapons equipped) would be a great class. Since it wouldn’t require equipping anything (though can) barehandsd would be a healing/melee class. A wider stronger solar beam would cost initiative and be called chi wave would be the number 4 skill and a skill like shield bash would be the number 3 (interrupt, moderate damage, cost decent amount of initiative to modify for thief/monk). To differentiate it from druid (won’t be a complete ripoff of the class like I said it doesn’t have staff) it will have some alacrity utilities but lack strength of the pack and celestial avatar form.
