Guild Wars 2

Is there any chance that there can be some in game communication of new content? I just found out about the festivities in Divinity’s Reach several hours after the patch via SilverWastes map chat, and I would have totally missed the new content if someone hadn’t linked a new item. Content in the past was heralded by something in the game splash page titles or an in-game email. I am quite upset that I found out about the new dailies too late to do them. How do I find out about new content without haunting websites I consider to have suspect security or requiring an account? I was just under the impression that the extent of the year of the ram celebrations was new gem store content and the MF buff because that was the only change in the game that was noticeable from where I logged in. I could easily have missed the whole festival if I had made one of the other cities my primary in-game home as some people have.

Usually the star in the top right corner has text in it so I am assuming that is a bug (that would of told you where to go), but the star itself is probably a big hint.

You could of also checked the patch notes on these forums for that information under the “Game Release Notes” or check dulfy, the Guild Wars 2 subreddit (unless you count those under the suspect security)

I was a little surprised about the festival – it was largely unheralded, especially if you don’t follow the forums. Although the main giveaway was the patching at launch which prompted to me to check the release notes.

No biggie though, was a nice surprise at least.
