After finding many people with the same general problem I decided to suggest a new tab on the gem store where people can vote on the next weeks limited time items, weather the item is new or returning is irrelevant. Many many people miss out on whatever they want and it doesn’t come back to the market, some times for many months. Personally i want the Soul River Glider how ever in any case if people are willing to vote for something it’s sure to be a hit. P.S. if there is a better venue for suggestions than here I would love to know.

You’ve offered a solution to a different problem other than one you listed

Issue: People aren’t necessarily around for limited-availability offers
That can’t be solved by “voting”. It could be mitigated by ANet doing a better job of communicating what’s available on the TP — for example, if gem shop availability was included in the API, folks could write an app so you could find out when something you wanted returned.

Solution: voting for what returns to the TP.
That doesn’t help people know when stuff returns. It is, however, interesting for its own sake. Would ANet charge us 10 gems to vote? That would certainly promote the idea that folks are willing to spend gems on each item (although it would be controversial).

It may not be the perfect solution but this idea would be something in the meantime. Any time you have a way for players to vote in game rather than outside the game I think you reach more people so if anything it could also be a way to test future voting for all sorts of things and not just gem store related.

The vote we have atm (or over already?) for deciding the guild name for our PS heroes is a good example. Having the players vote and decide on things like this is an excellent idea/feature. But having it out of the game and forum related I think is not the best way to go. Many people like to just “play the game” and do everything related to it IN the game. Many shy away from discussions or even votes if it’s outside the game. Even if they do find the topics interesting or important to them.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?
