[Suggestion] Legendary Sigils and Runes
People try to propose something in a constructive manner, 0 replies.

Btw I like the idea, I’m not sure about its implementation, but I think you have a point.
Sigils/runes swap could be a neat addition.

I do too. Especially since Anet changed it so we can change our traits on the fly, when ever we want, where ever we want (while OOC) and also do it for free. Anet wants us to experiment.
I do like the concept behind this idea, and it would be interesting to see how it could be implemented. However, I don’t like the “Legendary” tier association. I am hoping that someday we get class specific Legendary armor options, and personally I would love to see actual, unique Legendary runes/sigils that offer better stat increases and/or an additional bonus effect for a set.
I could definitely see myself being okay with this if it was perhaps an Ascended tier of runes/sigils, focusing more on Ascended crafting mats and retaining a significant amount of money/time sink qualities. Implementing your idea as an Ascended tier would actually be beneficial, as it would make my desire for Legendary tier runes/sigils more feasible.
I’d love for a rune / stat swap system… that’s one step closer to build templates.
While I think the amounts might need some tweaking, I like the general idea behind this (especially the alternate use for Gifts of Battle!), so I’d support this.

Anet would decide as to whether or not it would need a time gated material and how much it would cost to make them. the prices i made up a something the average player can easily afford to save up over 20 days while making the charged crystals.
It’s a good idea to implement legendary runes and sigils but i suppose we need to discuss two things:
1st – is that the Legendary rune (we dont talk now about the price) should allow to save the 6-runes bonus, no matter what runes are beed used (but only! if all 5 other runes are the same. if not – legendary rune will give us ony its standart attributes)
An example for Shout Warrior:
Demand of Justice (Legendary) Rune
Increase outgoing heal by 15%
You grant regeneration (50% of your last heal) to each ally you heal
Rune: Superior Rune of the Trooper
Call of Barbarian (Legendary) Rune
Increase your Power by 5%
Decrease incoming damage by 15% for 5sec after taken critical strikes (CD 15sec)
Rune: Superior Rune of Strength
2nd – Legendary sigils should allow us to use and increase the elemental damage, not to mention the possibility of visual efects.
For example:
Eye of Primordus (Legendary) Sigil
You have a chance to ignite your foe on strike and cause burning 15% of damage delt
Increase damage by 7%
The Lost Prophecy (Legendary) Sigil
You have a 15% chance to create a healing wave around you (visual effect) and heal your allies for 50% of your Healing Power
Gain a charge of +10 healing each time you kill a foe
How about that
And it would be wise to let us use only one Legendary rune at the same time.

Love the idea man
Legendary weapons deserved to have this feature from the point they added stat swapping. It sounds great that you can swap to any stat until you realize that going between different builds like power and condition require very different and expensive runes for the build to be ideal. Right now the only reason to make a Legendary over ascended is the look and maybe if you think you can get away with the same rune for all your builds. Personally, I would rather have several cheap ascended weapons than make a Legendary for stat swapping. This is because each ascended weapon could have a sigil tailored to the build as opposed to a Legendary where you might destory some very nice runes, like going between strength and tormenting. It is worth noting that it is cheaper by far to make every useful stat combo in ascended than it is to craft a legendary.
TLDR
Sigils of this nature would make Legendary weapons the true end all be all ideal weapon, while right now they are prohibitively expensive compared to a bunch of ascended weapons and also less functional because of sigils.

The main point of legendary weapon – is luxury and unic visual effects. Even if GW2 is a “game of skins” there will be players who play in exotic stuff and those who can spend their money to obtain BIS (best in slot) items via ingame shop – Black Lion Trade Company. If ANet will create and implement new Legendary stuff into the game it surely will get profit from it plus will increase interest of players who would love to have such things for themselves.
From another side – why do the player’s thoughts can’t be implemented by developers? It’s because of “protection of intellectual property” – other words – “you can’t use what was created by me without my permission”. But they can_use your idea to create something similar
Legendary runes and sigils are very intresting to the game. And i wish ANet will create such … in time.
