Bobby Stein is now the Lead Writer for GW2, a position he was given after release; before, he worked on ambient and DE dialogue, but it looks like his team didn’t do anything on the personal storyline or the dungeons.
Yes, that’s me saying Traheanne was not his fault, nor was Destiny’s Edge. For the records, I rather enjoy ambient and DE dialogue in GW2.
There’s a rather long interview with him published today at GuildWarsHub, talking about many different aspects of the Living Story.
The ambient dialog at times was pretty good, very rarely bad.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the wit and charm of the ambient text to show up in future story dialog!

The ambient dialog at times was pretty good, and almost none of it worthy of eye rolls that make you appear to be having a seizure.
Knowing that that group has taken over the story mode writing leaves me wondering how painful it must be to have to write off the expense of building a time machine so they could go back and hire a 7 year old Stephenie Meyer to write the personal stories that shipped with the game. She won’t be unemployed long though, in a few years she’ll realize the ‘sparkling zombie’ craze is ripe for plucking and will write a whole new series called “Dusk”.

Let’s hope the sparkling zombie craze goes away soon, or some fanfics might come out, and then we’ll have 50 Shades of Gaile next…
