New items with game purchase
Most likely not.
You won’t get a set of tires that were added to a car purchase today if you bought the car a year ago after all.
Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Chances are, no, you’re kittened.
18 slot boxes are easy to come by, anyway, and you can buy the armor of your choice on the gem store.
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
You need to think of it this way, you go to the grocery store and buy a box of Toasty Oaty Winky Dinkies, you take it home and for a week you eat your Toasty Oaty Winky Dinkies for breakfast. Then you run out of Toasty Oaty Winky Dinkies, so you return to the store to get another box of Toasty Oaty Winky Dinkies and you notice a free toy is inside the box of Toasty Oaty Winky Dinkies. Now are you going to go up to a clerk at the store and demand that he rip open a box of Toasty Oaty Winky Dinkies and give you a free toy because you already bought a box Toasty Oaty Winky Dinkies last week and didn’t get a free toy. The point is that companies give out free stuff to intice you to buy more. In the case of video games they give away free stuff intice new players to buy their games.
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens
Would it have been nice if it was included with people’s previous CE or DD purchases, sure (yay free stuff and all). But these items are not unique, and easy for us to obtain.
You can get an 18 slot box for a couple of gold or a 20 slot box from fractals for “free”. We’ve gotten a hoard of boosters (and other items) from our achievement chests and you can still buy exp boosters from the gem store. And the armor has been there since launch. If it was an exclusive item/mini/skin then I’d complain a bit, but they are just skins/quality of life items that we’ve had access to since the start of the game.
If someone just upgraded (or bought) a new copy last week/month then I’d may be a bit angry though, but that’s Anet’s support team to figure out if any recent purchases should be grandfathered in or not.
Don’t see why not.
Opposed to physical items, digital items have no material cost, only development costs.
Especially since if I had a standard edition and upgraded to deluxe I would get the items.
Otherwise they are sending a message you better wait before buying anything.
I see it a bit like the humble bundles, where after I payed and beat the average, I also get all the games added meanwhile?

I’d like a set of the armor for my character birthday…..can I trade in three-six Jennas for it?
OK… I just did some extensive studies regarding this and so far all the data readings seem to indicate that someone else getting something for free in GW2 won’t affect my game whatsoever. I’ll continue to do research and keep everyone updated.

Gosh, greedy much?
This a marketing ploy as old as marketing. Feirlista gave an excellent example of this, and it’s something every business does, all the time. We don’t go and demand we get the things we missed out on from other companies, this is no different.
For those that pre ordered, or got a collector’s edition, etc, we got our freebies. Those promotions are over, now its a new promotion to entice new people into buying. Its the same thing with other items. I’m buying a new mobo and cpu combo. Last week the same combo was on sale for the same price, but came with a free tshirt. This week, the price remains, but they aren’t offering the tshirt. I missed out on the tshirt promotion because I didn’t buy it last week, I have no right to demand they give me one when I order it this week. Just like people buying the game now have no right to demand something equivalent to the pre-purchasers 3-day head start.

They were unfortunately eaten by a wombat. I have assistants standing by the wombat in “recovery” mode however.

I’d laugh….but it hurts too much right now. XD
That is the way businesses work. It’s like buying BF3 at release and getting mad that you can buy it for less than 4 dollars+5 other games at the humblebundle pack.
While we are at it why dont ask they refund the 20 dollars more you paid for the game now that it has dropped in price?
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
