With the new leveling system in place, it feels like ANet is assuming we are all 5 year olds trying to the to play the game. I’m somewhat of an altoholic and honestly, this change sucks. Before they completely overhaul certain parts of the game, they need to do some kind of Public Test Realm from Diablo 3, or Community Test Environment from Battlefield 4.

NO ONE asked for these changes, and yet ANet thinks they can go ahead and overhaul certain parts of the game because they think it’ll make the game better. It is so frustrating. What do they want us to do? Press 1 all day? For us veteran players, it looks like the only way to go around with this is to craft. Craft craft craft. Welp, some people don’t have the money to craft, so it looks like we’ll have to buy gems to convert into gold so we can.

Everything done to the game = buy more gems.

Theres actually very glaring flaw in your theory – crafting does barely any xp now, so will you commend them at stopping this “cash shop scheme” now? Maybe its a bug, but they havent said anything about it yet.

The only “headache” are traits, but since they also require boatload of skill points, your theory also fails there because youll get gold for them faster than skillpoints needed ;P

Or you can use other ways to lvl up, like look for the fastest repeating events and use them, or go to EotM…

Did maxing a craft give you 10 lvls? I don’t remember how much it gave, but I remember how the experience gain was nerfed long time ago, reducing the number of levels one would get from maxing a craft…

There might be other ways too…

I’m not the biggest fan of the new leveling system, and how I have to grind out somewhere between 7 and 10 levels every time I finish part of the story.
Or the extreme hand-holding on a new character.
Or the fact that I can’t consistently rally until level 19, due to the skills being locked.
Or the elite is 10 levels later.
But you know what?
It is what it is.
There’s no changing it now.
So, you might as well get used to it.
Go dance for a cow in Queensdale, I hear dancing makes you forget all your troubles.

But by the looks of things, and the sheer amount of people complaining, I won’t be surprised if ANet decides to change some things back or hopefully do a complete rollback on the new leveling system.

The new leveling system is not meant for you nor us. They confirmed that there are bugs, so it remains to be seen how much of the current system will stay in place for alts.

A lot of dominoes you are lining up there. Of course if this is an alt your account may already have enough mats to level up your character or a pile of leveling scrolls.

But does ANet even read the replies on there? I thought it’d be better to make a mindless rant by creating a whole new thread.

They’ll remove mindless rants.
Anet does read the forums and even the interaction (kinda) improved since a few weeks.
