New player questions
I enjoy roleplaying in other MMOs, I learned about it in Neverwinter, and then tried it in Tera and WoW, and always had a great time.
That being said, I heard that the unofficial RP server is Tarnished coast. But I see it’s always full and I can’t create a character in there, only go as a “guest” what does that mean exactly? Also I read something about megaservers but couldn’t understand it. is it like merging several servers in specific zones that are usually more lonely so you can see more players?Again, on the rp topic, should I try to join a rp guild? how is rp in this game? I think it’s a beautiful game (and that comes from someone who played Tera) and I think it has all the tools for having a great rp community, I hope I’m not wrong.
Tarnished Coast (if you’re NA or Piken Square if you’re EU) is the unofficial RP server. With regards to it being full I wouldn’t worry too much. Megaservers means that all servers are merged in PvE (for want of a better description) meaning you will be placed into maps with players from lot’s of different servers. it does try to prioritise people on your home server, friends list and guild which leads to the next point.
Yes you should find and join an RP guild. It will increase your chances of being put into the same shard as other RP’ers. Also add people to your friends list.
Another question, I’ve read many times that GW2 lacks endgame, but I also know that it just recently got it’s first expansion, Heart of Thorns, did that change things a bit?
I read that namy people get bored after they get to 80, I sure hope it won’t be my case.
I love exploring and it seems this game has quite a lot of it.
Largely depends on what you consider endgame. From your comment about exploring then I think it should keep you occupied for a while (especially if you join up with an RP guild to do stuff with). With regards to Heart of Thorns it has not been released yet just announced.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll try to join a RP guild soon then. Any place in particular where I could meet other roleplayers? maybe taverns and stuff like that? I’m still just lv 7 so I haven’t been to any big city yet.
About the expansion, my bad. I read aboutg it and thought it was already released.
First of all, If this doesn’t go here, feel free to move it, but I couldn’t find another place for this.
I’m a new player, just got the game with the big discount days. I played yesterday for a few hours and I loved the game. I do have some questions that maybe you can help me with.

I just miss some more races, I’ve always played a handsome redhaired rogue elf called Jox Minosclav in all the MMO’s I’ve played, I was sad to learn there are no equivalent to elves in GW2 (only silvary but I’m not really into plant people) so I just made a dar haired human, love how he looks so far.
I hope someone can help me with these questions, so far I’m enjoying the game a lot!
I hope things continue like this.
New player who loves the game and is enjoying it allot. Yet there’s a whole thread about a debate on the NPE (New Player Experience). Interesting.
Anyways welcome! I do want to say that as far as getting bored, I find that’s not the case when I create multiple characters and set goals for those characters. In fact, always set goals because that drove me to keep playing and not get bored. You can create all classes for all races with multiple story lines for each race so there’s no limit there as far as playability and story goes. Once you reach level 80 on one character, keep working on the other one or create a whole new one for a different story and experience. You should be golden with that.
Check out the links below they’ll probably help you better than I can with RP -

just because NPE isnt a good execution, doesnt mean no one will like the game. Just means people dont feel its as good or better than what previously existed.
Like others said Joining an RP Guild is the way to go. You may want to look for an RP guild that is not based on tarnish coast if that server is full however. I am suggesting that simply because the one issue choosing a server effects is World vs World. If that something you think you may enjoy you want to be on the same server with your guild so you can join them in any WvW activity they might do.
If WvW is not for you or you’re okey with not doing it with your guild it really will not matter.
As for endgame, there is no what people generally consider endgame (raiding for more vertical progression mainly) that isnt to say Gw2 doesnt provide anything to do at level 80. For starters the whole world remains viable which is a big plus. Secondly with some exceptions every 2 weeks we generally tend to get an update with new content and new stories. (right now there is a bit of a break while they finish of the expansion though even though technically there was supposed to be an update today that unfortunately got delayed). Something that you as an explorer might appreciate there are also quite a few hidden areas and events through out the world. It can be fun wondering around making sure you didnt miss anything. There are also quite a few different story branches you can do with different characters / classes if you’re into story. There are a truckload of skins to collect, same goes with dyes if thats something you enjoy. Then there is leveling Alts. The expansion will also introduce more stuff to do. Unlocking specializations for existing classes as well as masteries not to mention precursor crafting. This is a question that has an answer thats subjective to the person, if you like the sort of thing GW2 offers there is a ton to do at max level.

I think what he meant is NPE is something aimed at new players not veteran players but its almost always veteran players who complain meaning its actually good.
Now you’re right what we had was probably better but what good is having something thats better if it intimidates you away and thus you never get to experience it?
Sometimes something that still good just less so but more successful can be a better idea.
