New player server switch
Send a message to support. From what I understand they’re helpful for new players with this issue. No deleting all won’t let you repick. It’s on you though cause there’s a big warning message when you pick servers.

Yeah. But I didn’t understand that I was locked into the server for the entirety of my play. I assumed it was for that toon in particular. Thanks!
Its only a level 4 toon it doesnt take long to lvl. Just delete, but from what I read recently I think you can do that., but they were not sure

I recall that an ArenaNet representative recently said on this forum that a server change is free, as long as your account has no characters. So if you delete all characters, you should be able to switch to the server you want.
HOWEVER, you can only change servers if it has been at least 7 days since you last changed servers. So if you assigned yourself to your current server 5 days ago, you need to wait 2 more days before you can switch servers at all.
ALSO, it is possible that the game will not even allow a server switch to a server that has the status “full”. This status fluctuates over time, based on the actual number of players logged in on that server. (I’m not 100% sure about this, however.)

See, that would make sense to me. I really don’t care about starting a new toon. Just need to get to the right place. I put a ticket in, and I will update with their answer. Thanks guys!
If you don’t mind not being able to WvW with them or joining a guild mainly located on their server and receiving their guild bonuses, you can just guest on their server. You can join any guild from any server, but guild influence points and bonuses are server specific. If you are going to restart your character, just remember to bank whatever you can and deposit all your money.
And I highly doubt that if you delete them all and select a server you would then have to wait another 7 days if you want to rinse & repeat. The cost is for accounts that have characters and the waiting period if for WvW protection so you shouldn’t have any problems.

I thought that the 7-day no-change period is a hard cap, meant to limit players from switching more often than ArenaNet wants / can handle.
Also, it is not possible to play WvW until 7 days after you arrive on your new home server.
I believe very much that these two conditions are part of the same bit of program code, and that they apply regardless of the number of characters on the account.

I second what Xhyros said: Look into the “guesting” option. You can select up to two servers other than your home server, and visit any and all areas of that server (and play with people from that server), EXCEPT WvW.
The thing is though that they don’t really count it as a transfer since you’re just prompted to select a new home world automatically when creating your first character. There would be no reason to make someone wait another 7 days if their account didn’t have any characters what-so-ever.
Of course I can’t confirm this…it would be nice if a dev popped in.
