Why do I have to transfer to a high population server to play with my friend and leave behind all my guild mates and other friends because they deem the server to be ‘full’. It has been full all day since 2 P.M. and he still can’t play. Is anyone else running into this problem?

Not to mention the rumor mill going around that high population servers are ghost towns at night (when I like to play) and the only way to play at higher levels is on a full server but you can’t get there.

I bought this game to play with my friends, not to play alone on a different server.

It’s “full” because the server has reached it’s peaked limit of concurrent users… you probably keep wanting to play during a primetime of that server (based on time zone). Keep trying.

Is noon ET prime time for Dragonbrand in the US? Aren’t most people at school or work?

Is the only option between 2-6am ET?

You should really make a char in any server and transfer when the time is opportune. No reason not to be able to at least chat with him online :P and for the first few levels, its not gonna matter so much anyway :P

Yep. My friends that transferred had to wait till between 3-5am to get on. DB seems to have a really large east coast population. So he can wait, or he can give you his info since you are on late anyways and see if you can get him logged on.

Another solution is to just roll and character, pick a server, and ninja transfer directly after an update when everyone is downloading and rebooting. With the event coming im sure there will be lots of chances.

Or you could transfer, or he could transfer, or you could tough it out and just play dungeons together and chat (since that works cross server) until guesting gets going.

There are plenty of options. More options than most other MMOs where if your friends were on a different full server then you were just totally kitten out of luck.

OK, thank you. That is very helpful. On the world selection screen it specifically says that once I choose a server, I will need to pay in order to switch. So I’ve been holding off on playing the game until I could get into the server that my friends are on.

But I guess that the free server transfers are still in effect and aren’t planned to end anytime soon?

This whole problem would be solved if they made this game like the first and had no servers at all. It was essentially 1 giant server and a bunch of overflow servers. The only reason i could see why they would think about switching from that system is wvw which can easily be fixed.

But honestly, the only real problem right now making the servers full 24/7 are bots. The best solution is to just not play with friends at all until they find a way to deal with bots effectively. Otherwise you will just be causing yourself grief.

I gave up after the first week trying to get all my buddies on the same server. Several of which stopped playing once they hit 80 cause this game is so boring solo and it is too hard to get groups of friends together.

My friends who bought the game today are in the same situation. Now I have to decide to play with some real life friends with a world transfer, or play with other real life friends on the server I am currently on.
