New releases every two weeks
I’ve actually thought about this. I agree it’s a risky proposition. I mean how long can they keep it up for? How good can it be? If it’s always happening, how jaded will we become?
It’s definitely food for thought.
I don’t think the problem with it lies primarily in terms of player perceptions and expectations. I have long advocated for a longer development cycle, i.e., longer than one month. And the reason is that quality content takes time to design, code, test, and deploy. Many of the problems we have seen whether its lost shores or the living story that was a road to walk up and down can be tied to the short development cycle and time imposed limitations on the possible.
I would much prefer to see them evolve a permanent world of an enduring nature with a development cycle around three months. Bug fixing and game balance tweaks could, of course, happen more often.
I do agree that it is [an] aggressive and risky model. However, fortune favors the bold I suppose. Go big, or go home. I’ll be right there to see how it pans out.
Edit: Gods be kittened filter!
Only time will tell

Go big or go home indeed. Too bad a lot of these releases have been very lackluster and dull.. they haven’t really gone big at all.
I think it is very bold, especially if they use the LS to drive the expansion into new territory,
I see many people complaining about the LS being shallow etc but I think of it this way.
The LS serves as a short, small update that you check in on to follow the story, have some fun and lets you get back to your regular stuff.
You can do it or not but it does mean that there is always something fresh if you want it.
My only concern is that players might get a bit burned out on new content all the time- I know I gave the Sky Pirates a skip because I wanted to focus on other things.
Either burned out, or so jaded that no matter what they add it will not be enough.
I’ve always been a sour puss about them changing/adding too much too quick.
Don’t care if other people get bored either… well thought out content always trumps the gimme gimme gimmies…
Monthly skill updates were always pushing it IMO, and those date back 8 years now?
(now if we could get SKILL SPLITS every month… then maybe it’d be a good thing)
