I love WvWvW and spend most of my time there (mostly dead but still fun) but more and more I see people linking ascended ring/backpacks etc.. which gives them an advantage (albeit a very small advantage) when fighting.

I dislike Fractals (just not my thing) so will the new token system allow to purchase Ascended rings/back items? or just an amulet?

If not, maybe let them be sold on the tp?

Not sure about backpieces as those aren’t “directly” acquired from fotm but rather from the MF. But I do know I read somewhere on here that both rings the new amulets and infusions will all be available with the new method they’re implementing.

@OP, If you dont like fractals I kind of see your point to an extent but, I like to think that I got my fractals stuff because I worked my kitten off in the fractals, instead of simply purchasing from TP.

I like some of the PvP, WvW armour but I wouldnt expect to get it without actually doing some PvP/WvW if you understand my point.

Gold income is also something you work for. Someone that buys something off of TP has earned that gold through some form of “labor”.
I understand your opinion, Nibiru, but while some people enjoy working for something through it’s direct approach (like doing FotM to get the rings) others who may not like FotM could work for it by doing other dungeons/wvw/farming/crafting etc.

what would be a nice option maybe is buy/earn and upgrade infusion slot for your current gear maybe?

You can get back pieces that you can make with bought materials through the MF. But you need 1 vial of condensed mist which is a random drop from FotM 1-9. They’re not incredibly rare but as with everything RNG, you may get one from the first mob you kill from your first ever fractal or you can get none from 1 up to 9.

His point is still valid. You should (and I believe Anet said will be able) to obtain ascended gear from WvWvW, either by badges, or some other system.

I agree we should be able to play the way we want to play and receive the equal rewards for time spent but……

that’s the LAST thing we need ever is for more items especially these new tier pieces to be sold in an economic system that’s highly slanted, effectively broken, and completely inflated with no means of recovery without shutting the whole thing down. I doubt that will happen and I doubt people will actually repair this system in the upcoming patches, but hope remains, I can only dream that it’s not misplaced.

They should just move past the PR runaround and allow the things on TP or put them on the cash shop and get it over with.
The sooner they get people out of monotonous instance grinding and back into slightly less monotonous WvW grinding the better.

I refuse to do things like grind Fractals. I just like being in WvW. It would be nice if my work in WvW could be converted somehow to still get rewards from other activities. Just as much as people who only grind dungeons for fun should have some means to get gear from other areas of the game.

When are we going to have an MMO and simply allows ALL items to be placed on the action house. GIVE US A REAL MARKET ECONOMY.
