New to GW2 have a few questions.
player base is like all other games, it’s the best mmorpg, but anet has a history of making bizarre decisions.
Honestly, the playerbase is generally kind. If you’re upfront about being new, many will treat you with kindness. However if you attempt to join “experienced only” groups or other groups that are selective (whether in dungeons or spvp), you may get some negative feedback and/or a swift kick.
If Angry Joe was the reviewer that made you want to try the game, you should know that his review is horribly outdated.

Because we can’t be angry about both?

This is true. Even his discussion on the PAX expansion announcement wasn’t good. Dude was talking as if he knew how the game was but admitted that he stopped playing before any living world installment.
Tip for the newbie: Explore everything. Let yourself mindlessly run into hearts(basically quests but not quite the same) and dynamic events. If one pops up on your map or the top right corner of your screen, go to it and help out. The experience from Dynamic Events are really good.
Don’t worry about dungeons right away, they don’t start until level 30(but at level 25, the game sends you mail telling you that the first one is coming up). Most dungeon runners in the LFG do 80 only runs, but you can start your own party or even ask map chat to help you out in getting you through story mode. There’s hard modes of them with three different paths called Explorable Mode. All the dungeons work in this way.
Also, if you end up joining a guild(which is highly recommended for specific gear later since its easier to get with a guild), you can always ask them for tips and help. Map chat and Guild chat can be very helpful and most people in this game are nice guys and gals.
Hope this helps!
