New to gw2, tips for class ? :)
My suggestion is, if you like the game enough, buy 4 more character slots and make one of each, with one left open for Revenant when HoT releases. If not that, try them all out. Asking for “what’s fun to play” will generally get very biased opinions that cannot account for your personal playstyle.
Here’s a summary of each class strengths and weaknesses. They are all good so it depends on the playstyle you like
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1ojgdr/what_class_should_i_play_a_summary_of_each/
Warrior – stable class, easy to get started but the skill cap is decently high and can do be pretty epic after you get used to mechanics. Also is in a nice place in every game mode.
Guardian – basically the same as warrior but focusses on active defenses and support, fun class to play in every game mode and is just about always the backbone of the group
Engineer – GW2s macgyver. Nades, bombs, flamethrowers, turrets, etc. One of the strongest classes right now in every game mode. But takes a bit to get used to it and has a somewhat steeper learning curve than the other profs.
Ranger – archer with a pet, one of the easiest classes to get started with but sorta tough to be “good” at because most rangers use the same predictable rotation. Also has spotter (precision increase for group) and an ice spirit which gives a nice damage boost to groupmates
Thief – fast paced and high risk/reward class. Master of stealth and mobility. Also is one of ,if not, the top dps profs
Mesmer – their job is basically to mind kitten the enemy, you get clones, stealth, and have portals that are very useful for getting a team between points, does decent dps with sword and has reflects that are a necessity for some fights
Necromancer – right now a bunch of the community looks down in necro, but in the right hands it can bring a good bit of dps and wells can save a group from getting eaten up by confditions. … also, fear a zerg off a cliff and you get to watch your chat get filled with rage PMs
Ele – crap ton of dps, water fields, fire fields, fields fields fields. If you can stay alive with ele, you can wipe groups. And if your team is in trouble you can swap to water and keep them alive
I’ve played all of them and tbh like them all, just try them all if you have to, each proffesion can hold its own and has its own thing to bring to the table.
Give them all a try for a while and pick whatever you like the most.

Vena summed the classes up pretty basically.
If you’d like please give us a detailed description of what you’d like to play, If you’ve played MMO’s before, and excuse my french, if you are a “Casual” or “Hardcore” player.
This info will help us tell you precisely which class would be best for you.

Thank you so much for the answers so far! What i like to play is dps, i played WoW for some years but im so tired of it so i want a new MMO game and thats why im trying gw2 because it looks good. In WoW i mained Feral druid ( Melee damage ) and hunter ( Ranged damage ) Like both of those, im not a big fan of tanking, healing or mage/casters.
the easiest to play its Tank guardian. lots of health. but low dps.
if you want to play dps you can try zerker warrior build to start with.
a bit more health, melee take’s damage.
for class in general playe from easy to hard:
guardian
warrior
ranger
necro
thief
mesmer
ele
engin

if you want high dps for pvp go for thief. however, zerker thief health very low. not recommand for beginner to start with.
So a good class for a beginner is warrior it looks like?
if you want dps, i would say so. start with. great sword and long bow weapon.
one for melee one for range.
after you get to 80s run AC dungeon, to get solder armor to start with. after you know your character well change to zerker amor.
if you forces on dps. u will need power, precision and ferocity to get high dps
Yeah either warrior, guard, or ranger are the usual go to classes to starting gw2.
Also, if you have questions about anything, feel free to add me ingame and ask away
As others have stated, warrior, ranger or thief. I also feel they would for your style.
